There are now less than two weeks to go before the new season starts. Welcome to the COYR Aaron Higgs Memorial Predictions League 2020/21 season
The COYR Aaron Higgs Memorial Predictions League is a fun way to express your knowledge of all things Forest by predicting how you think the Reds will perform in their League fixtures.
Aaron was an 11 year old Forest fan who sadly passed away in 2020. His dad, McForest has kindly given us permission to name the Predictions League in his son’s memory.
The First Prize will be £100, the second prize will be £50 and the third prize will be £25, which has been kindly donated by one of our members, who wishes to remain anonymous. So for this season, there will be something to play for! Thank you to our donor!!
The more games you participate in, the more points you can accumulate.
Rules
2. The AHMPL will only cover league fixtures for the 2020/21 season. Cup matches can still be predicted on, but will only be for fun. (Midweek matches are a ball ache to work out, especially if I have work the next morning!)
3. Players must be COYR Forest Forum registered users.
4. Each player will be allowed one prediction per match.
5. Predictions must have a halftime (HT) and fulltime (FT) score. Any predictions made without both sets of scores will be deemed invalid and will not count, with the exception being for a 0-0 draw if stipulated as the FT result.
6. Scores will be made as per usual score line formats. I.e. Home team score shown first, away team score shown second. So if Forest are at home, theirs is the first score shown and if they are away, it will be the second score shown
7. Scores can be shown as Forest score shown first irrespective of home or away, if clearly stated ‘Forest Win/Lose, Home/Away Win’ etc. If there is no stipulation to show how the score is intended, prediction will be as per rule 6.
8. Predictions can be made right up to kick off (KO), at which point, ‘the book’ will be closed. Predictions made after the game has kicked off will be deemed invalid and will not count.
9. Each player is allowed to make one ‘substitution’ or change their initial prediction. Player must state at the time of the ‘substitution’ that he/she is changing their prediction to help us out with the recording of all predictions please. Please do not edit your first prediction as this may have already been put on the system and any changes may get missed.
Points
10. Points per prediction will be as follows:Correct HT prediction = 1 point. Correct FT prediction = 2 points. Correct HT & FT prediction = 3 bonus points as well as the HT & FT points (6 in total). Correct result, irrespective of score = 1 point. Correct result means if you predicted Forest to win and they did, but by a different scoreline, then you have predicted the correct result.
Example: Player correctly predicts Forest to win 2-0, with a 1-0 HT Prediction. His/her score will be: HT = 1pt, FT = 2Pts, Bonus HT/FT = 3 points, Correct result = 1pt giving a total of 7 pts.
A player predicts Forest to draw 2-2 with a 1-0 HT prediction at home. Forest draw the match 1-1 and were winning 1-0 at HT. The points here would be: HT = 1pt, FT = 0 pts, HT/FT Bonus = 0 pts, correct result = 1 pt. Giving a total of 2pts.
11. If players are level on the same number of points on the actual league table, then the player with the higher number of HT/FT Bonus points will determine which player is higher up the league. Should this also be the same, then the FT points will be taken into consideration and if the same applies after that, then the HT points will determine the outcome. If the same still applies, then the Results points will determine the final result. If more than one player shares the exact number of points, Bonus points, FT points, HT points and Results points with another player, then the decision is a draw as there is no other way of separating the final outcome.
Miscellaneous
12. All predictions will be monitored by Joe Baker Legend and Tricky, who are the match officials. Match Officials decisions are final.
13. Any questions or concerns about decisions made being inaccurately (and there will be times) or the points awarded are wrong, contact either Joe Baker Legend or Tricky, either in the predictions thread or via personal message and the matter will be investigated.
14. If you have any other questions, queries or concerns about the PL or this set of rules, please contact Joe Baker Legend or Tricky.
15. By taking part in the AHMPL, you are accepting these rules and agree to abide by them.
Thank you for taking part in the COYR Aaron Higgs Memorial Predictions League!
