There is something very unlikeable about them, yeah bet they wont think its so windy down there this weekend. It really annoyed me that we lost in that promotion decider last April l even if we finally did it in the best possible way.
Their owners have just taken over Lorient FC, but it’s different to our relationship with Oly in my opinion, clearly bought as a feeder club. There have been some choice messages on Bournemouth’s twitter feed from Lorient fans this week, lets just say it wasnt Welcome to France.

This season in Premier League, AFC Bournemouth's form is Very Poor overall with 4 wins, 4 draws, and 11 losses. This performance currently places AFC Bournemouth at 17th out of 20. Bournemouth are a team who set up in a 4-4-2 formation generally but have been switching during the games to a 4-5-1. They look to control the ball at the back with 33% of their touches being in the defensive third.

The team is set up to play short controlled passes across the back line to then move up the pitch using a wide style of play. In fact 77% of the Bournemouth attacking play is based on wide wing patterns with a massive 52% of all forward momentum coming down their left hand side, the percentage of attack down left hand side increases when playing at home to 54% of all attacks via the wide areas.

Bournemouth like most teams this season do perform better when playing at home and average 2.11 goals scored per game but have failed to score in 56% of their home games so far. Most of Bournemouth’s goals come in the 60-70 minutes from open play and are within the 18 yard box.

They do have a good record of keeping clean sheets as well at home with a 44% record and a average 1.11 goals so will be difficult to breakdown. When it comes to conceding goals they are most vulnerable in the first 10 mins of the match and between 30-40 mins. They are weakest centrally for allowing shots on goal and they are spread between 18 yard box and outside the area.

A further weakness of this Bournemouth team at current is keeping possession of the ball which has resulted in them fouling in dangerous areas and this has also then added to the stats regarding defending set pieces. It is not the first phase of defending the set piece which has cause Bournemouth issues it is the second phase of attack, the re-grouping once the ball is cleared. We are seeing zonal marking mixed with player to player marking which has cause confusion and two players marking the same zone creating a window to goal or not getting a press on the second ball.

Matches between the two sides suggest that there is 67% chance that 2 or more goals will be scored but only 17% chance that both teams will score. Bournemouth have won 5 of the 9 previous meetings and have kept a clean sheet against forest 33% of the time.
This will be a tough match and with so much riding on it for both sides but more Bournemouth I would suggest as it is a must win against our don’t lose. Because of this i expect a very nervous start from the home team which we should look to take advantage of by pressing hard.

Mostly outcome is a 2-0 to either side.

Just a note for forest fans travelling to the game tomorrow, the A31 near Bournemouth has a lane closed until Monday at the earliest and it’s been causing a lot of queues this week, may want to set off a little bit earlier to make sure your here on time
