You may be right.
But just maybe we should give a player who scored 20 goals last season the benefit of the doubt.

Ok but how much benefit...

Most of you talk as if yesterday was the first game this season or ever.

We have played 2 competitive fixtures lost both without scoring and grabban has look uninterested in both games and when the easiest of chances comes his way it is missed.

Grabbans poor form goes back a while now not just the last 2 games. I really like him as a striker but he had to do so much on his own last season and the way we have set up in the last 2 games it looks like he will have to do it again. He needs some time out. Time to stew and get himself chomping at the bit again. If he sees Taylor scoring goals he will have no option but to take his chance when it comes.

No room for sentiment... thanks for last season but that’s the past and we need goals now.

Same with sabri I am afraid. Thanks for last season, some great memories but Christ it’s dull and we are not getting results. Lose this weekend and he can do one.

Not going to have a go at Grabban. I keep saying he is the type of player who will miss sitters and he will go on runs where he doesn't score.

But He is a good championship goalscorer who regularly gets 20 goals a season. If he only needed one chance to score he would be playing in a Premier league team. The fact he gets in the right positions is the thing that gets him so many goals.

For me the loss of form is both concerning but understandable. Obviously we want our best goalscorer scoring. But at the same time we need others to be chipping in so as to take the pressure of him.

Let's face it, when Grabban doesn't score, who does. Lolley chips in with 9 or 10 a season but after that? Ameobi sometimes. The defenders - the odd one or two. But from central midfield - barely anything. And that is partly down to selection - favouring hard working defensive midfielders over creative or box to box types and by playing negative tactics where we just are not getting enough bodies forward. I'm hoping Freeman will help with this once he is up to full match fitness.

Ultimately We need goals from all over the pitch. This may help Grabban rediscover his composure and relax.

Agree with that Plymouth. Our midfield both in its set up and in its personnel is pretty much barren. Recognising this I cannot fathom the non selection of Carvalho. It's as if you're either in or absolutely not in with Msr Lamouchi. It should not matter at all which scout or agent brought a player to us. Carvalho with Freeman and Colback feels positive to me both making and scoring goals. On a side note such a selection would make me pay for iFollow again because at the moment the football is not good value.

I think anyone expecting Taylor to come in and contribute to the extent Lewis has every season for us will end up being sadly disappointed.

I should just clarify my thoughts. I’m really looking forward to Taylor playing - I would love it to be in partnership with Grabban but I can’t see Sabri doing that.
I just feel that Grabbs has earned the right for patience given his goalscoring record ( particularly given the paucity of chances we create ).
Lyle Taylor will get his chance - and I hope he seizes it. I just feel that it may not be quite just yet ( in terms of starting anyway ).

No he doesn't. He has managed it 3 times in about 15 seasons.

U23 game today.
Perfect opportunity to give 1 or 2 a run out in order to gain a bit of sharpness.
Taylor & Johnson starting - but would’ve thought others could’ve benefitted.

That's a good point.

The players seemed ring rusty in the last two games.

Presume that'll be Jake Taylor rather than Lyle as an overage player?

Hope Ameobi is the first name on the team sheet on Saturday.
