For a Club our size to be raking in around 25m a year in income is pretty bad; the only way that will improve is if the Ground starts to earn on non match days.

The new stand, together with additions around the rest of the ground, will go a long way to providing the facilities to earn that income.

Knocking down the existing stand and replacing it with a similar structure with similar facilities is pointless.

The proposed Flats will contribute around two thirds of the construction costs of the stand; they will get built one way or another.

I can understand why 19 storey flats would be objected against. The waterside appartments are 9/10 storeys. If the planning was reduced to a similar level it would get passed no problem.

I think the original plan was to build two smaller blocks; the plan was amended after an objection.

Restricting the size to no more than 10 stories would be more beneficial to the people buying them; they would no longer be classed as high rise which makes getting a mortgage for them considerably easier.

This is exactly it. Forest commercial revenue for 2019 was £6.7M which is towards the low end of the table for the Championship. In comparison Derby earned £9.7M, Birmingham £10.1M, Bristol City £14.5M
We must improve these figures, ultimately we have to sell a key player every Year just to keep up.

Of course, Marinakis could always build the stand himself. If it's going to double revenue it makes sense. No FFP restrictions on infrastructure costs.

I find that a bit odd Ozzy.

We have had just the three private owners in the Clubs existence; one was a life long supporter who enriched his family to the tune of 90m, one was a wealthy comedian who came very close to putting the Club out of existence and then Marinakis.

No one ever doubted Doughty's intentions yet he took the Club to its lowest point in recent history while accumulating paper debt after paper debt for his own good.

Marinakis, in comparison, came in and saved the Club; he has started a rebuilding programme which will eventually turn us into a professional outfit.

He has employed professionals in key positions who are in turn generating vital income for the Club while at the same time has written off debt the Club owed him personally.

Writing off a few million here and there is one thing; asking someone to stump up over 100m is a very big ask.

I know what my response to that request would be if I had the money.

Serious business people like Marinakis do not accumulate and retain wealth by giving it away; they use the resources at their disposal to generate more wealth.

How would people feel if he went ahead regardless and took out a loan to build the stand, and then loaded that debt onto the Club?

He would be perfectly entitled to do that under the terms of P & S

I agree with Ozzy, EM should now show his true intent with regard to Forest, supply the funds required to enable Sabri to buy the quality players he needs and to come out and give firm details of a start date for the development.

I agree with JCK. Some are asking a bit too much and have got a bloody cheek. I have siad it before and I'll say it again. Becareful what you wish for. Or, you don't know what you have got until it's gone.

Is it Marinakis fault that the apartments got opposed? Is it Marinakis fault that Covid 19 got in the way and everything shut down and came to a grinding holt?

Because FFP limits will prevent him from spending that kind of money on transfers and why should we expect EM to spend £100 million from his own pocket to rebuild the main stand. Unlike Nigel Forest was not his boyhood club. The club is a business opportunity. Having a lifelong supporter own the club did not really work out. The less said about his successor the better. I will be pleased if EM runs the club professionally. That is the most we can ask. Finance for the stand and club needs to be found in a sustainable way and not on the whim of a benefactor.
