Too lightweight and inconsistant to be a first team top 6 Champ player at the mo. Needs to get stronger & make less poor choices.
OK backup option to have currently. When Carva's fully fit I'd have him behind Watson, Sow, Bostock and Semedo for a place in the starting 11.
But give him a few months and hopefully he'll adapt. Too early to write him off just yet.

Is he any less lightweight than Carv?

I actually thought he got about a bit yesterday, put in some strong tackles however they were often after giving the ball away! Was clearly better than Semedo though and agree his main strength is his corners. Almost worth having in team just for those particularly at home.
If we stick with 433 (no guarantees as Sabri hinted we may change at some point), I would hope/expect carv/Sow to make themselves guaranteed starters and then rotate between the other four depending on opposition/performance. I would say Sow has already done this after the last few games

He is frustrating. So much talent and a hard worker but got us into bother a few times yesterday with wayward passing. Samedo too was poor and Sabri was going to haul him off after 25 minutes.

A season of getting him battle ready in the championship will do wonders for his game if we make the premiership.

its obvious why benfica kept semedo, on his day he can very very good like against leeds and derby in the cup. however he has played more poor games than good...charlton, birmingham, preston, (west brom he was anonymous bar a few good runs in the second half).
manager has 2 weeks now to work with these players. sow, bostock, carvalho will all be knocking on the door and yates wont be far behind them.

Silva will take time for him to adapt...……..its a new league and much tougher. He seems to be a fighter and he will get stronger and learn how to play. Looks a good player...….just needs time to settle and not become the new whipping boy that some are already trying to make him.

I don't think it's helping him that he seems to get kicked to s**t every match he plays either!
