Seems like it is the not playing Carvalho thing that grates with most of you.
For what its worth my midfield 5 would be Colback, Gueddy, Osborn, Carvalho, Lolley. Grabban up front.
So if Martin plays that team (or your own favourite combination) and we get beat who do we blame then?

That would be my team too actually probably (gueddy only doubt). I would blame the lack of time this team has had together. Carvalho confidence must be low right now. If he plays that team for 5 games that would satisfy me...

It is worth remembering that MON has a better record after 14 games in charge than what Karanka had.

That is easily over looked but it's a fact.

Also difficult to legislate for basic GK errors that turned the game in Sheff Weds favour. Steady Eddie Pants may or may not have made the worldie that Steele made 1st half, but at worst his kicks go into touch, but mostly under MON they get good distance from our own goal. 

Also - raising my head above parapet- regardless of strengths and weaknesses, we almost always look a better side with Benny O in midfield. Probably due to his energy & enthusiasm. Every balanced team needs water carriers as well as artisans.

Ha perhaps but right now I feel like we’re a team of water carriers and lolley. Osborn maybe better than cash, similar players

True. However, some can carry more water than others.....
Personally, if fit, I would build a team around Lolley and Carvalho. But I can understand why Pele was brought on as they were getting at our CBs far too easily.

Going back to the title of the thread, I don't like seeing MON booed and abused, it's not nice for anyone to have to go through that but to see a Forest Legend being booed and abused disgusts me to be honest.

Of course I am not saying that he should be exempt from criticism, far from it, but criticism should have it's limits and boundaries.

There is no doubt that it has been disappointing so far but some of the criticism is a little extreme I think.

Haven't we won 5 home games out of 6 under MON? It's not all bad.

On this forum our poll came out 50-50 so probably unfair to blame the minority. I would say it’s at least half. I consider myself generally positive and I’ve been critical of him mainly one thing.

Also we may have won 5 out of 7 home games but some of those were pretty painful. We were very lucky to beat Swansea, it’s not as if we’ve exactly blown the other teams away either. Also they’ve not been challenging fixtures aside from BC and villa both of which we lost.

Some people need to look up the words fan and support in the dictionary. Then again the people in question probably can't read.

Forest fans.

MoN has a clear track record of doing the business with the best football CV over the last twenty years.

His record can bury Aitor's, Billy's or any other pretender.

But these things don't come over night.  Not when you have to clear out the players from two previous transfer windows.  Players he did not sign.

Players who are lightweight, injured, old, or just too mediocre.

If we're being honest, Watson, Dawson, Murphy and Geddy have probably had their day in the sun.  With a shed load more ineffectuals clogging up wages and resources.  We've probably got players here on easy money (old soft touch 'last pay day' Forest...) and they don't want to hear the brutal truth from Martin or Roy. Players like Os'. Does he really, in his heart of hearts want to be here? We're going to have to be brutally honest about what players have contributed this season under Aitor and Martin. Going through the motions isn't enough. And yes, Martin and Roy have probably had to ruffle the feathers of certain players. Who? We can probably guess from Yacob to Geddy to Watson to others like Os' or Milo' who've been dropped for various reasons. Ie. To watch other players (who, while not world beaters...) probably 'listen' to the what he's trying to tell them. Martin has eluded to older players who think they know it all and have nothing knew to learn. Well. That won't do.

That they're brittle bottlers.  They've had three chances at least to get into the play offs under MoN.  So close we were.  Each time?  Vs Stoke, Villa or Rotherham?

Couldn't hack it.  Martin has been more than diplomatic.  He's the boss.  He picks the team.  But he's picking someone else's team. 

Miracle men?  No.  Nearly men.

Why give Martin 'only' 12 weeks when Brian Clough had 3 years to get out this very same division.  And I bet Brian's first games in charge weren't that pretty either.

Fans job is to support the team.
There is no manager in the world who can join Forest and win every game!
All managers should be given a good chance, and Forest legends should get longer!
