Is it bad that if carvalho isn’t starting Saturday I want to spend the entire game doing his chant?
I’ve felt since MON started he wasn’t expecting the backlash for not picking carvalho specifically the chants and didn’t like it so decided to make a point by not picking him. Initially he just wanted to play 442 so no placed for him but he’s regularly played 451 so could’ve easily picked him.
Seemed to come to a head last night with his refusal to sub him on. If he genuinely thought he made the team worse than starting Murphy etc season is over now. We’ve invested £13m and need to make a decision on him also potentially market him out if that is the plan. No way to justify him not playing now. Needs to put the clubs investment first, can’t imagine EM isn’t enjoying his £13m investment not being used and we still lose.

Wassy I get what you are saying but can I widen the argument based on the title ie what on earth has MON done to upset the fans so much?
Karanka had an awful start, 7 games without a goal. People who say our football is the worst in years obviously didnt witness the 0-3 capitulation vs Preston last January. What happened of course is that AK then went balistic on deadline day which made him some sort of messiah with the fans, Vive le Revolucion etc. What he did was sack Matt Mills (who was not our worst defender anyway) and bring in an unfathomable amont of new signings. Colback and Lolley great, some of the rest we are still paying to siton their backsides. But we cut Karanka slack, rightly in my book and I still think he would have got us top 6 if he had stayed.
Martin has had a difficult start but no worse than Karanka. He isnt playing Carvalho but he is giving youth a chance which Karanka never did. Good grief he even tried Steele last night.
What has he done so badly that is upsetting people so much that they arent even prepared to give the bloke 4 months in the job?

Well said Salvatore.
It is worth remembering that MON has a better record after 14 games in charge than what Karanka had.
That is easily over looked but it's a fact.

Fair points, for reference I voted stick! I feel like it’s just this carvalho thing for me, although overuse of Osborn at LB, no milosevic, overuse of Watson, yacob being sidelined are also slight issues. I mainly wanted to talk about the carvalho issue, that’s been annoying me since day 1. I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt to an extent if it worked but I can see no justification for this position aside from stubbornness at this point.

It's also a fact that AK inherited a poorer squad who had no prospects of playoffs when he took over. MON took over a significantly better squad who had a real chance at attaining the playoffs still. I think that is why fans are a lot angrier this time round.

Going back to the title of the thread, I don't like seeing MON booed and abused, it's not nice for anyone to have to go through that but to see a Forest Legend being booed and abused disgusts me to be honest.
Of course I am not saying that he should be exempt from criticism, far from it, but criticism should have it's limits and boundaries.

Also difficult to legislate for basic GK errors that turned the game in Sheff Weds favour. Steady Eddie Pants may or may not have made the worldie that Steele made 1st half, but at worst his kicks go into touch, but mostly under MON they get good distance from our own goal.
Also - raising my head above parapet- regardless of strengths and weaknesses, we almost always look a better side with Benny O in midfield. Probably due to his energy & enthusiasm. Every balanced team needs water carriers as well as artisans.

Did he talk about why Pele rather than Carvalho replaced Appiah last night in his post match?
I genuinely didn’t understand it, unless he had given up on the playoffs this year and is wanting to see more of Pele and whether we should try to retain him (the answer is no btw).

Ha perhaps but right now I feel like we’re a team of water carriers and lolley. Osborn maybe better than cash, similar players

No of course but he’s not exactly making an effort to keep the fans inside either

Seems like it is the not playing Carvalho thing that grates with most of you.
For what its worth my midfield 5 would be Colback, Gueddy, Osborn, Carvalho, Lolley. Grabban up front.
So if Martin plays that team (or your own favourite combination) and we get beat who do we blame then?
