Good post Tricky

Firstly I am delighted Taiwo looks like he is on the road to recovery and I hope he continues to improve.
There are indeed some good and sensible posts above and protocol may well have been followed. However I remain convinced that some actions at the time failed the common sense test in that a powerful athlete running at full speed collided with a post and the impact was on his abdomen. Following that he was clearly in enormous pain even when he made it back to the sideline. Everyone else in that stadium could clearly see he was in no fit state to continue and it wasn’t something he could run off. Likewise protocol was followed by the assistant referee but again the situation fails the common sense test. Im sorry but I believe Taiwo was let down in that situation although its probable he would have still needed surgery to repair the damage. Again best wishes to him and his family and I hope procedures are reviewed soon.

It is arguable the decision on the last sub should have been delayed a couple of minutes to see what T could do - that decision is made by Nuno.

Said that at the game, surely you delay that sub a couple of minutes just to ensure Taiwo was ok to continue.

I also agree. But it is easy to say in hindsight, now we know what a horrible outcome this has ended in. Remember at the time of the incident, we had not long conceded an equalising goal and Leicester had their tails up. It is clear that Nuno didnt want the team playing with 10 men, that is understandable. Was there confusing messages being relayed between Taiwo and the Physio's or between the Physio's and Nuno? Did Nuno make his own mind up to take Anderson off, not realising the full extent of T's injury? Only those pitchside know what ACTUALLY happened. This is something that will come out in the wash at a later time when the club hold their review into the entire incident. Whilst we will never know, what might've happened if Leicester had gone on the score a late winner, while we were down to 10 men? Nuno would've been absolutely rinsed and slaughtered for not making the substitution immediately. Damned if you do, damned if you don't springs to mind!

Get that but it's easier to play without the extra attacker than Anderson who's been a key midfielder. I'm not sure it's hindsight, Sunday league you see same, give em a minute or two then decide.

Its terrible Taiwo indicated to the bench he wanted to come off but was forced to continue.
That is a disgrace. A player knows when something bad has happened and to be berated by some people for indicating he wants to come off, being ignored and forced to continue in an unfit state, is the issue.

Anyone know what was up with Murillo going off at half time on a buggy then proceeding to play the entire 2nd half?

Murillo said in an interview that he heard a pop. HT came at the right time, came out for 2nd half and felt fine.
