Good.

A serial trophy winner who knows the players well having worked in England and a known Anglophile.

It will also put an end to that shit 10 German bombers song.

Wait for the media frothing when he doesn’t wear a poppy or sing the national anthem.

Sky had Harry Redknapp on moaning last night that it's not an English manager. Pretty sure that's the same Redknapp who had shedloads of overseas players in his Spurs and Portsmouth teams.

I wonder if all that brouhaha about the anthem put Carsley off at all. Wouldn't blame him if it had.

As has been pointed out this morning, Tuchel is a bit different to Eriksson and Capello because he has managed in England before. His English is certainly much better than Capello's was too.

Good luck to him.

I think its an interesting appointment and probably as good as we could have hoped.

Just hope MGW remains in the set up for the next round of friendlies.
First the points and then the pints….

Disappointed we couldn't attract Pep. We should have gone to him and offered him anything he wants, money, coaches, facilities wise. We should've tried persuading him with talk of him being the greatest ever coach ever in the game when he lifts the world cup for us. He's won everything at club level there is to win and he's at the richest club in the world so that's probably the pinnacle at club level so where does he go next? The Spain job isn't going to be available for 4 or 6 years either probably. It makes perfect sense to me and it's a great fit for both parties. I hope the FA gave it a real go but I'm not confident they did, instead going for the easy option of taking an unemployed coach off the carousel.

Really enjoying listening to Tuchel speak and in the face of some stupid questions (someone already asked about the National Anthem).

In pretty-much flawless English too.

Hope he's a massive success and shuts up all the moaners.

FA said they interviewed 10 candidates - some English - but wouldn't say who.

I suspect the timing was wrong, I can't see Pep leaving City mid-season, he's a romantic when it comes to football and will want his last act at City to be immediately following him lifting a European Trophy.

If Carsley was too weak minded to deal with the fuss around the national anthem then he's not mentally strong enough to lead the English team through various tournaments.

I've not heard that song inside a ground at the last three international tournaments, it might get sang in pubs by those who don't attend but unfortunately those things continue regardless because the population has a mindless minority, same applies to racism, homophobia, etc.
