Knocker takes care of the right wing. But the question is now over the left wing. Mighten. Ameobi. Lolley. Freeman. One young and presumably learning about defensive responsibilities along with a potent attack. One injured latterly but has a Hammer of a shot, inconsistency and a goal in him with that unpredictability. One with a 'condition' (or burnt out through being hammered over the last two seasons or so...) and Freeman arrived with a 'deep routed' Hernia condition when we signed him...and overweight due to not being played for a year. An embarrassment of riches? Ironic. As none of them can hold the Left Wing down under Hughton. The starting preference is Freeman. Team 'balance' reasons suggested in some quarters. SA.

Quite right Sniff , back to the football . Always had a soft spot for Luton ( since Eric Morecambe days ). I remember going to Kennelworth Road to see them play Forest 70/80 . Forest in yellow drew 1-1 Viv Anderson scored and Luton had twins playing for them . Hope we score early tonight and keep going for more . We look a confident outfit and as CH stated earlier we will give anybody respect but a proper match .

Ron Futcher and Paul Futcher.
They had a great team at one time with Ricky Hill, Brian Stein and Ray Harford etc.

A lot of you guys seem to be very happy with Cafu, I am not so sure he is right for the hustle and bustle of the championship, I think and believe that CH will seek a better option for next season. OK for a squad player in my opinion but not to a standard where we all hope Forest are going next season.

He hasn't looked out of place to me. He seems to take everything in his stride, he doesn't seem fazed with the hustle and bustle. Seems to me that because he came from Olympiakos some are trying to convince themselves that he's shit when in fact he's been excellent. Not having a go at you Joe by the way.

He's also the only one out of the midfield three with a contract in place for next season!!

Sniff, get what you are saying but my point is nothing to do with Olympiakos or any other club he may have come from. To me he seems to struggle with hustle and bustle type teams and there are an abundance of these in the championship this season, have a good study of him against the lesser teams and you may see my point. When he has time on the ball and to think then he is an OK player and potential playmaker from deep, similar to Watson but he will be targeted by opposing managers when they see this weakness.

And even that ( and this is in no way a criticism of a player who has shown his worth in the last few games ) may have been born out of necessity - allowing Hughton to get new loan players on to the books. Whilst he’s currently vying for first choice he may be a squad player next season - IF Garner ( and Man U ) can be persuaded to sign on for another 12 months with Yates probably becoming first choice alongside him. |
