Yep, I think Grabban will go in the summer for a couple of mill and we need a young striker in. I think Murray has another year in him so a young lad, him and Taylor would be a decent 3 imo. Maybe even a fourth, big target man too.
We need to secure Knockheart, Christie permanently. And i think Freeman will want to come permanently. Question mark over Ribs for me. I think we can do better to be honest. Maybe Vrentzos was right about him after all.
Christie permanently, suggest that a month ago and you'd have been slaughtered. Now it looks like a shrewd move. He looks a better player now that we're playing on the front foot more. Also has nice chemistry with Knockaert. It also shouldn't go unnoticed that he starts every game and plays 90 mins and does a lot of running. Impressive levels of fitness and ability to avoid injury. These are good reasons to give him that contract IMO. Easier than finding someone else too.

New left back needed. Ribs has cost us with poor marking and has a red card in him all the time.
Right back - jenks should be enough.
We’re stocked at cb if you include McKenna and mbe soh.
Brennan Johnson definitely for Freeman.
Mcguane - probably too early.
We need a striker who can hold up the ball and who doesn’t spend all of his time on the floor like Taylor. He’s not good enough. Juke at Brum ? Also like Kevin nisbet at hibs and our old friend Laurence shankland.
Look to League 1 and 2 - Kirk at crewe? I’d prefer someone a bit hungry and cheaper than knocker.
We shouldn’t be a cash cow or last pay check for anyone.
Send all the loanees back?! This is the first time we've managed to sign some decent loan players. The transformation in the last month since Garner and Krovinovic came in is ridiculous really. We suddenly look like a team that can actually play football. Even the drop off in midfield when Garner missed Rotherham was obvious.
They have exposed our previous central midfielders for being what we all suspected (not very good) if we can somehow bring them back it would be amazing. Also Knockaert is comfortably our best attacker.
And Freeman plays.... OK I have nothing on him.

We would be crazy not to try and get Garner, Krovinovic and Knockaert back. You cannot replace these type of players with players from League 1 and League 2.

You cannot be serious?
Garner also we may not get him but be mad not to try
Agree with the no last pay cheques bit. Which is also why I wouldnt touch Juke with a bargepole.

Ha this one might be a stretch! Maybe a good player to use to protect leads?

Id go further. This team looks like a comfortable top 6 team to me.

Think of the chances we've missed recently. Could've also beaten Swansea and Barnsley as well as Derby and Blackburn would've been much more comfortable

Yep, just abit more of a cutting edge up top and the skys the limit. And we're getting better and better as we go along now. Im really positive for next season and we can enjoy the rest of this season now without much pressure.

Watson, Cafu and even Worrall and Yates immediately spring to mind.
I rarely write players off Sniff. Think I have a record of defending our players (although he is not our player) and even last season took pelters for saying Bong is not as bad as people think.
Here is my slightly more detailed reasoning/analysis:
If Freeman were a cheap freebie or youngster making his way in the game holding up that left hand side I would still be saying he needs to stop giving the ball away cheaply and is very very slow, but has a nice touch in very tight situations. He releases the fullback quite well too. Then there was that consolation goal vs Bristol City I think which was a belter. However the physicality of the game looks too much for him at present.
The fact that I have watched him at previous clubs (on TV mainly admittedly) and been consistently underwhelmed only worries me more. He can take a decent set piece, but hes generally not even on those as we have better. He has one season of decent stats, where he was the main set piece man.
Add to this he would command a significant transfer fee and wage and for me it's a massive no thank you.
The caveat to this is that I haven't watched him live for us. He may do a tonne of off the ball work that goes unnoticed by TV cameras. A bit like Watson with his constant reading of potential danger, even when it didn't transpire if you follow me.
Maybe he shuffles across midfield so that Cafu and/or Garner can help Christie out as his winger is given licence not to?
He must look very good in training, especially in tight possession drills so currently Hughton picks him. Whilst I trust and defer to Hughton, I do not see any merit in bringing him back next season.
Be interesting to hear if anyone sees it differently?

I think that sums it up nicely, please send on the scouting report to Mr Hughton. I suspect Ameobi will be back in on Tuesday now he's fit anyway.

Looking forward to next season already(but only if Boris finally finds his spine and allows fans to attend with no capacity restrictions, I know he said the other day there’s a good chance, but I still don’t trust him).
If we can get the majority of the loan signings back and hang on to Worrall and also bring in a goals scorer from somewhere then I think the general perspective will be a promotion push via either automatic or play offs.
God I can’t wait to be doing the whole match day experience, meeting the lads in the pub at 12 and even earlier for an away day...
