It’s not Karanka’s role to pick all of the players who are signed. They are the club’s signings. He is the first team manager, not the Head of Recruitment.

Of course Karanka has huge input into player targets. How could it possibly work otherwise unless the Manager and the recruitment team have psychic connections! They have meetings, draw up list of potential signings and then the recruitment team works on it whislt Karanka carries on preparing the team. Its just that potential signings wont have the manager sleeping overnight on his settee until he signs. (Archie/Sir Brian)

manager of course needs input and a say in signings but given that we get through a manager a year and have lots of fans wanting another one already its probably a decent idea for others at the club to have a say too.

Wonder what the hold up with this one is. Work permit as non-EU player? Never mind 583 central midfielders - this is where we need the cover.

It could be that he is out with his National team, and can look to sign when back or now he is free, he's looking at options. If he is any good I imagine he would have lots.

Reasons not completed and announced yet is problems over his work permit. Should all be sorted soon though (or its back to the drawing board)

That makes sense with him being from outside the EU. I'm sure he meets the criteria for having played enough international matches in whatever timeframe it is, so hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

Forest didn't get 'Tammy' (and pushed hard for him?) but this striker is an alternative prospect. It would be great if they sign him and he bangs in a few goals.

Iran have a friendly against Uzbekistan next tuesday, sure that Ansarifard is in the squad.
He should be in the UK to complete his move later next week.

I am confident it will happen, we have this very cool chairman who can make miracles happen here. Technically a £5m Olympiakos asset could just walk away into the sunset. When Karim signs here, Marinakis could feel a bit of heat from Olympiakos fans. When he has signed we have picked up potentially £10m, maybe considerably more, worth of players, international and CL standard free. Excellent ... hopefully
