Nottingham Forest - Watford

we haven't got an outstanding squad, however, play to the strengths of the team, i think these players are far more suited to an offensive style, even looking at the defence, Christie and Ribs are probably best going forward, alot of there work is wasted because they are crossing to 1 player in the box.
Guerrero is potentially a class player, play a front 3 where he slightly sits back and has options up front and to the sides, ideally with players gambling and committing to getting in the box.
Nothing to lose, we are no nearer finding out our best starting tactics, all we have discovered is that we never score in the first half and rarely score in the 90 and we can count the amount of genuine chances created, on average on our testicles.
something like a 3.4.1.2, yes the ball goes up the pitch quicker and comes back quicker but defensively our defenders are good at last ditch stuff.
Warbs played a high up the pitch possession game with a much more inexperienced squad, if not much weaker and lighter and far less depth.
We don't have play the same way for 90 and we can make 5 subs fffs which should be factored in every game to at least generate some periods of serious extreme intensity, ideally prior to conceding, we have to score.

Arter seemingly struggling.
How about introducing Cafu?
Can’t see what we have to lose.

I agree, I don’t think we are expected to win so if we lose then CH can cite the loss of Colback.

I think you have made some valid points there PSS. I also think we may, in time, be a better side playing with 3 CH's, with the players we have at our disposal and playing to their strengths

I just scrolled through transfermarkt on Hughton's profile. They list tactics each match, it looks like only once in his managerial career has he played 3 at the back, in a cup match in January 2016 (he lost 1-0). And just a handful of 5 at the backs. So don't hold your breath.

4-4-2 with a 'double 6', i.e. two holding CMs was his weapon of choice in his promotion season of 2016-17.

Chris Hughton has an impeccable CV, a few troughs but overshadowed by many positive and some awesome achievements, on paper he is an amazing fit for NFFC but he needs to start winning very soon, he was literally revolutionary back in the 70's, but his revolution here could well crash and burn before it even gets going.

Looks like this game has come too early for Worrall, Sow and Grabban unfortunately.

Seem to remember Worrall suggesting - a couple of weeks ago - that his target was the Reading game. Since players are notoriously optimistic about their return games I’d be surprised ( but nonetheless delighted ) if he starts tonight.

Maybe Grabban could do 20 minutes if we're struggling?

Please just don't start Figs.

Even if Soh plays and does awfully, I'll be happier that we're trying something different than entrusting defending to someone who currently makes bad errors almost every game.
