You make an incisive point there.

I think the way Forest are setting up off the field implies 'continuity of policy' beyond even the current manager.

For now, Forest have lost just 'once' this season.  Aitor.  Needs a full season of implementing 'his' (and seemingly, the DOF's) style of 'technical continental' football.

Swansea is the first game where I feel where Forest have had that solidity they were gaining towards the back end of last season.  Playing a 'Championship' game of football.  Robust but technical.  Should have won it 3-0.

Giving Karanka time to get it right is essential.  Just waiting for the final several pieces of the puzzle to drop...and blend them into the first team.

Sunny...who r the continental technical footballers? The portugese players maybe? What is tgeir contribution to date? Because from the game i watched so far, nd I watched all the games...our dangers ate coming mostly from British or British based players playing pure British football...to note the number of crosses coming from Fox, the kicks from Panti etc...against tge prooer championship teams, it was the pure British grit that brought the result nd no fancy 'continental ' football (the which i dont know what exactly it is)...Many european managers came to the UK nd adapted their style nd football mentality with teams full of British players...nd succeeded....i hope that results will improve shortly because if it doesnt happen...even the players will become restless as they will end up being targeted by the fans of their performances..

If they havent got that then there's no point in changing. Some of the names being bandied around are not even worth laughing at.

So give me a name of someone who will come to the CG and do a better job?

How many more managers are we going to try before some one says that constant change isnt good. The money, time and effort we've wasted through changing again and again is a joke. Any potential manager must look at NFFC Plc as a Managers Graveyard when they come in and arent given time to see the fruits of their labours. But it starts before that when we are selecting managers. we have to get that right and I cringe when I think of some of the useless managers we've employed since Clough.

A few games into the season is far too early to be sacking anyone. Let him bed this set of players in. Christmas might be a better time to judge. A few wins could change so much.

Fair comment.  Let's give it time and see where we are by Christmas.

'Time.'  Brian Clough.

Nobody is calling for Karanka to be sacked unless I have missed something? Again, lets keep it in perspective.

Again, 100% on this. Let's leave the strawmen, spin, faked stats, & other nonsense that drags other forums and social media down, and that fuels the bitterness, out of our comments here.

Yesterday, I loved our match day thread in the immediate aftermath of the game.

The optimists, & the pessimists, both stuck their appraisals of the match on the match day thread & it was so refreshing to see both "sides" write honest appraisals, & by doing so we found that the majority of us were actually all within touching distance of each other when it came to how we viewed the match.

There was no bitterness, no abuse, no insults, just grown men (& adult women) talking about football & that is exactly what a lot of us want in this place, & one of the reasons you made it. To escape from the toxicity & nonsense.

You're right, I don't actually recall one comment demanding the sacking of Karanka, we're just not that sort of forum, I don't know about you mate, but personally I have no plans to destroy my bedsheets & turn them in to banners calling for "Karanka Out!" & nothing said on here is likely to change that, & even if it did change that, me with a ragged, defaced bedsheet, isn't going to change the boards opinion in any way.

We do not hire & fire, we know that, most of us are resigned to that reality, so instead we try to discuss the facts & truth of where we are, so that we can better understand what is going on at the club, & what is likely to happen in the future.

It is exactly like everyone is discussing in the "silence is deafening" thread, this desire just to have the simple truth, or an outline of the truth, just so we can see the bigger picture and fully understand what is happening & because of that support our club in the most appropriate way.

Any arguments that happen on here won't change the reality of what happens at the club, so it's pointless creating such arguments.

For example, if I sit here and pretend that Karanka has a great away record, what does it achieve if I actually fool you in to believing it?

The board are not going to be more, or less likely, to sack, or retain him, just because I've conned you in to believing my made up statistic about away form, on a forum on the internet.

These manufactured arguments and feuds you see all over the internet are 100% pointless, & we are much better served as fans by not insulting each other by trying to blow smoke up each others backsides and just engaging in grown up discussion with facts & truth instead.

No one wants a return to the managerial merry-go-round, but insulting each other, trying to deceive each other & lying to each other, will not make that more or less likely.

Two home games in 4 days against Wednesday and Rotherham.

We should really be looking at taking 6 points.

No excuses.

6 points from those games and we're looking at a completely different outlook.

And, I'll be personally really disappointed if we dont get 2 wins. It's a great opportunity to get 7 points from 9 and really gives us some drive. AK really needs some wins too. Fingers crossed.

Cant wait for the game on wednesday night. Proper pressure on that game but win and it'll be a massive boost. Cant wait.

If we can put in two decent displays and win both our upcoming home games our league record will begin to look very nice indeed.
I'll be disappointed with anything less than 4 points.

Cometh the hour Cometh the man

I really am hoping we grab this opportunity with both hands & put out a real chest beating, fist pumping, adrenaline fuelled masterclass, because we really shouldn't underestimate how much difference a performance like that could make right now.

Our crowd came in to this season ready to believe, give them evidence of something on that pitch & I reckon we'd be ready to roar like Nottingham lions.

This is the opportunity

This is the moment

NG3, you should be writing motivational speeches mate. Ive just pulled a chest muscle beating it so hard (My chest) after reading what you wrote!

If we seriously consider ourselves a viable promotion team then it's got to be 6 points, surely?

Which team would you be happy to take a home draw against?

Sheff Wednesday - destined for mid-table mediocrity, or
Rotherham - likely to be in or around the bottom 3 at the end of the season.

I know it's difficult but I'm saying we win both.

Me too Paplane.

Settling for a home draw with Wednesday or Rotherham?

Meh.
