Let's hope we buckle the trend starting Saturday with a much needed win and breed some positivity with a good performance on the pitch. Let the football do the talking.
It's not so much the performance I'm talking about - and you make valid points. Results and performances since lockdown ended haven't been what we'd all have liked, and the less said about the end of the season the better.
Just reading some of the comments about some of the players we've signed or have been linked with is draining. Because some people haven't heard of some of the players then they're immediately written off, belittled, the leagues they've played in called weak. That's just far too simplistic a view in my opinion. You never know how a signing will work out. We've signed 'unknown' players from 'weak' leagues before who've gone on to be brilliant. We've signed players from the English leagues who haven't worked out.
It annoys me how some just jump straight on players because they're not big names or not from big leagues, before they've even seen them kick a ball in the Garibaldi.

All of sudden there is a lot of negativity on this site towards the owners. Personally I don't get it. We make a huge loss every season even before Covid. We have improved each season they took over. This transfer window we have brought six players in. Most of those are generally thought to be good additions. We have negotiated top dollar for a full back with one years experience in the championship. They have backed the manager. People come on here and say we should sign Jed Wallace as if Millwall would sell him to us for a realistic fee. Some people need to get real.
Can't help it I'm afraid. I know it won't go down too well on this forum but I'm just not entirely convinced by these owners.
I wouldn't say there is a lot. Just the same 2 or 3 posters who are negative about absolutely everything. It does get a tad tiring at times.
We can question the manager, players, scouting team even the fans, but why cant we question the owners?
That's all i do, praise where its due, and criticise if i feel its justified, or to see how others on this forum feel about things, and help me understand or change my mind. Forums would be rubbish if we were all on the same page, wouldnt it?
So far the owners have not promised anything, and think we can all agree they have not delivered thus far. Made mistakes with managers and recruitment side, back to losing lots of money (pre covid) have sold over £60m in talent (including our best player from last season), and spent nowhere near that, we still await on news of the new stadium, if and when that will happen (the council is working, so when will go to them again?) also the lack of interviews from anyone higher than Sabri, is not reassuring, what are their hopes for the new season...we dont even get a thank you for supporting us in these crucial times, surely can take 5 minutes to talk to the fans?
Yet we have improved year on year, and this time have stuck with a manager (i mean first team coach), so lets see how that plays out, as of yet the City Ground plans look exciting, and the Academy remains successful, and if we do perform better than last season, then that will at least mean the play offs.
All in all, after 3 years, i remain cautious but still back the new owners

I dont mind you questioning some of the decisions, I think perfectly valid as mistakes have been made. It is the phrase highlighted that is over simplistic. Running costs of the club were £50.9M in 2019, Of which wages were £36M. Some of that is their own doing but to imply the owners are putting nothing back is wrong.
They are putting the absolute maximum amount of money into the Club that they are allowed to; and that is without having to resort to ambiguous accounting practices.
Some people think there has been a relaxation of the P & S rules, meaning owners have the green light to pump money into their Clubs; this is not the case, two accounting years are being rolled into one with allowances being made for loss of income.

What I find equally annoying is that we have to automatically accept that players are brilliant just because we signed them. So many of our signings have looked very poor on paper and that's what they turned out to be. But we cant say that until they are gone. Bong Diakhaby the list is endless really
We lost our 2 best players from last season. Our form from January was bang on mid table in the form guide. I don't think we have strengthened enough to achieve any better but I hope I'm wrong . I love this club but my faith and confidence in lamouchi and co is dwindling...he will need a win at the weekend to get people on side . Without sow in the side his points per game ratio is poor.
Convince me otherwise please

Where did anyone say we had to assume they'd be brilliant?

That's it. They can only put in what they are allowed to and we have limited income due to the restrictions of the stadium (an issue they seem to be trying to resolve), so what are they meant to do, go down the dodgy accounting practice route and cheat?
The brutal facts are that to continue to make a serious but semi-sustainable challenge for promotion we need to sell a prized asset each year. Every club without parachute payments is in the same predicament. The alternative is to play a team of kids and accept mid table being a good season.

We always sold our best players really.
Antonio, de vries etc they won player of the year next year they were sold.
My gripe is the sheer number of centre backs this regime have bought and failed. Milosevic , benolouane , hefele, chema etc . Its poor planning. Now we signed blackett who I predict will end up the same but happy to be wrong

I'd really like to know what the score is/was with Benaloune & Milosevic. Beno surely still has something to contribute? And Milosevic? WTF?

Fair comments SR, time will tell on those points during the next few months on the pitch. We will see the fruits of the recruitment which will open up further debate I am sure. But debate is healthy. I wish I could be as positive with my football club as I am with every other aspect of life, just unfortunately at the minute the alarming form pre and post covid is a cause for concern.
But let's hope we can put in a dominant performance at QPR on Saturday and the cloud of gloom will lift a little.

Are we suggesting that Colback, Freeman, Lyle Taylor are piss poor players ?
Added to that the players here like Worrall, Lolley, Grabban , Samba already here, who are certainly top 6 players.
We have a squad that is stronger than last year, and definitely has more goals in it, and should be equipped to be more than competitive in this league
I’m pretty sure the strengthening hasn’t stopped.
A bit of positive energy is needed all over IMO.
