Have a feeling if its up to EM said physios are indeed looking for alternative employment. You didn’t need a masters degree to know Taiwo wasn’t going to be able to play on.
I don’t blame the player either, it’s natural for them to want to continue, think Pearce played on with a broken leg one time? Nathan Tyson who was on the pitch today tried to play on with a ruptured ACL. Ultimately I think its Nuno’s call, the buck stops with him.
Agree with R73 about the face bringing on Morato last week too.

This is serious.
Breaking: #nffc striker Taiwo Awoniyi taken to hospital this evening, and is due to undergo urgent abdominal surgery, I’m told. Complications discovered today by club medical staff, who took him straight to hospital. Awoniyi tried to play on, but was in obvious pain v #lcfc.
Most importantly get well soon Taiwo.
Secondly as discussed earlier this ridiculous rule about assistants not flagging needs to change.

UPDATE: Taiwo Awoniyi has been placed into an induced coma and is receiving intensive care following ‘urgent’ surgery. Early signs are thought to be positive. Aim is to complete his operation tomorrow.

Good grief. Horrendous news. Keeping everything crossed he recovers quickly.
Pundits have been saying for ages that the stupid no-flagging for offside rule would lead to a player getting seriously injured.
