yeah I agree but hey, the signs are transfer fees will decline due to covid19 and could be a buyers market.
do you think it would be a good squad SR?
I like the idea of the ones you’ve brought in, yes.

I mentioned Eze earlier in the thread. I think he would make a cracking signing for us.

(09-04-2020, 11:28 AM)Widdow Wrote: Alex Mowatt, Barnsley Midfielder - Mowatt has proven to be a consistent performer in a difficult season in a side full of young players and a change of manager. He is a leader that will run through walls for his team and available on a bosman.
Bosman Free
Mckenna – Aberdeen
Great captain, good in air, international and can play left CB. Scottish football struggling, get him for £2m
Ben Pearson, Midfielder –Preston’s best player this season in a side doing well. Interceptions, tackles, driving forward with the ball and a range of passing I do not think he gets credit for. He is, without doubt, ready for the Premier League but be great to get him at Forest and beef up our midfield, wont be cheap though.
£8m
Jed Wallace, Winger - Jed has been the driving force behind Millwall this season, shouldering the attacking burden in his most productive season for the Lions - scoring 10 goals and with nine assists and has improved so much, again won’t be cheap
£8m
Karlan Grant, Striker - With 16 goals and four assists so far this season, Grant has continued where he left off in the ill-fated Premier League campaign. A player who can play wide or central, he is still only 22-years-old and has lots room for improvement but crazy not to invest in such a talent
£12m
Morgan Fox, Left-back - Morgan was a fringe player just 18 months ago and came under heavy criticism from Wednesday fans. Since then he has transformed his performances and has become a key player this season. He is sorely missed when he does not play and would be a good back up to Riberio
Bosman Free
Sam Morsy, Midfielder enforcer - Wigan's upturn in form is very much driven by our inspirational captain. He has lifted us in key moments and has chipped in with some important goals. He has always been solid but recently has taken it to a whole new level. He was nominated for the EFL Championship Player of the Month award for February 2020 after scoring two goals, including the only goal of the game at league leaders West Bromwich Albion which took Wigan out of the relegation zone. IF they get relegated may get him for £2.5m
Ivan Toney (Pboro)League One player of season by a considerable distance. The Peterborough striker has scored at least nine more goals (24) than any other player. Toney ranks first for clear-cut chances scored (15), shots (132) and Man of the Match awards (9) to complete this team and Peterborough can pick good strikers. With current climate perhaps can get him for £4m.
Said Benrahma is one of the standout individuals in the league, and would be a great attacking midfielder. He can play also on the right and left and would be an amazing addition His performances so far during the 2019–20 season saw him nominated for the EFL Player of the Year award at the 2020 London Football Award
£12m (but think it would be more)
Back up players to consider
Westwood – Sheff Wed, experienced shot stopper who could cover for Samba, especially with Pantimilon, Smith and Steele all out of contract in the summer. Westwood is to so on a free.
Perry Ng (Crewe Alexandra) Ng has proven to be one of the most effective attacking full-backs in the league, scoring two and assisting six this season, the latter return the joint-best of all
Defenders in league 2. Ng's 70 successful dribbles is the second most in League Two this term, and would be a good young back up to Cash. £500k
Left midfield: Ronan Curtis (Portsmouth) - Has chipped in with 11 goals and five assists. The Pompey star's work off the ball has also drawn admiration, with his 2.2 tackles per game ranking among the top 20 players in the league and be a good option on the left. Already a Republic of Ireland International as well £1m
That’s £50m spent, although dread to think what the wages would be lol
SELL OR RELEASE
Pantimillion FREE
Smith FREE
Steele FREE
Bong – FREE
Jenkinson - £500k
Benalouane Free
Hefele Free
Clough Free
Watson Free- been brilliant, but time to get some youth and energy in the middle
Bridcutt Free
Carvalho - £5m (but who would pay that?
Darikwa – send out on loan
Yates – out on loan
Johnson – Out on loan
Mighten out on loan
Walker out on loan
Gabriel out on loan
Send back
Bostock
Muric
Diakhaby
Semedo
So the squad would be

Worral
Figuerido

Some good calls. Only place I have to disagree is on Ben Watson. To release a player who has been picked in many EFL teams of the season and was my pick for our player of the year - and not missed a single game through injury or suspension seems strange. I can see absolutely no reason why he wouldn't have another strong season in him. He deserves another year and has outperformed Ben Pearson (whome I rate very highly) in almost every stat. With Sambas injury record, howabout having all three? Competition and quality. So long as 2 of those 3 are on the pitch, we definitely won't get bullied, plus they are all decent players.
The focus on Watsons age I think is overstated. He has shown this season he clearly still has the legs and the brain and ability were not in doubt. In my opinion Colback was class 2 seasons ago and I would have loved to sign him, but Watson has been even better this season.
I'd probably not drop Grabban from starting line up either, but then I haven't seen much of Grant, so cant comment on whether he would do the all round play that Grabban has been so outstanding at this season, leading the line etc..
