Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

The club are really promoting the Miracle Men, they're not going to sack one of them. How would that look?

I am glad to see it because things took a turn for the worse at one point a few months ago, I remember putting it on here. Looks like it's all been sorted now and the Miracle Men and the club/owners  are getting along nicely again.

MON was over in Greece for a few days with the big man, they seem to have a really good relationship.

I would bet that EM has fired managers in the past that he had a good relationship with; results will dictate what transpires.

You would hope that MoN would have been sorting out what he has to spend and that we will see some incoming action fairly soon.

Of course JJK. There is no room for sentiment, it's a ruthless results business.

However, it's nice that MON is working closely with Marinakis, Vrentzos and Dourekas, something that Karanka was not able or was unwilling to do.

I would hope that all three of those gentlemen would've been involved in O'Neill's recruitment process, so there shouldn't have been any surprises for him regarding how the club is set up and its ways of working.

I’m not on twitter but I can’t believe some fans are berating our history or the MM. without them and BC we could possibly be where County are, I can well remember a time when we were in the same league.

Exactly. The miracle men put this club on the map, they didn't earn a fortune either, in 10 years some of them won't even be alive, we have already lost the management team. We should embrace them and look after them and celebrate their achievments while we can. After all, it will never happen again.

Those without a sense of history are doomed to repeat it.

Part of the problem Forest have had in the last 20 years. The Miracle men have gone, relatively, under-appreciated.

It took the club longer than it should have done to name a stand after Brian Clough. The Miracle Men have only just had a movie made about them long after the fact.

The bigger clubs are forever singing 'you'll never walk alone.' And there was the never ending talk of how many titles 'they' and United had won and who had won more.

And how 'great' City are for opening half a billion on a team to win the 'Premier' (it's the 1st Division, folks...) by '1' point. Whoop.

Brian Clough's Forest were the only team that stood up to 'a certain team' in the late 70s and early 80s. Done on a relative pittance compared to teams of today.

We count ourselves fortunate to have Martin as manager. He learned his trade in the lower divisions and worked his way up. That he didn't join us before was a combination of loyalty to the clubs he was with and the fact that Forest were a club in decline with poor leadership. His CV eclipses all the managers we've had over the last 20 years. Interim, workman football has replaced brittle 1 dimensional football. I'm sure, once Forest have a solid base and the players who pull out of tackles are shipped out...then we'll see a Forest with a robust, physical and athletic set of attributes and a mental toughness to back it up. We'll be tough to beat, multi-dimensional and yes, we'll 'play a bit' too.

It won't last forever. He's only got another contracted year. I'm going to enjoy it whilst it lasts.

A relatively short amount of time to fix 20 years worth of footballing problems. But I'm confident he'll give it a good effort.

Whilst even modest teams from lower leagues have ended up with brand new stadiums that weren't swimming in grime, rust or fading paint.

It was a badge of Forest's decline and poor leadership until the new owners gave Forest a lick of paint and came through with some stunning plans for the future.

Last seasons piss poor finish under Martin has nothing to do with his history with us.

Obfuscate as much as you want but we finished short of where we should and regardless of who was in charge it wasn’t good enough.

ah, you mean the 3 clean sheets and 3 wins with a lame strike force, ok wrong types of wins and clean sheets and goals but the 8 wins out of 19 was better than AK's 5 wins out of his first 20


sorry for quite enjoying the M o N revolution, the season was alive until a few games from the end of the season and plenty of positives going forward

i'd say we were light up front but 'heavy' seems more how it looked, even so, M o N found ways to win a fair few games and we looked difficult to beat in all of them, usually extremely difficult to beat

I am very happy to the generally, very solid look to the squad

M o N is total quality, we have more than our fair share of deluded fans, though i appreciate many have suffered for many years, most may never of seen 3 consecutive wins with 3 clean sheets, we are guaranteed to be around 3 and a half months undefeated in the Championship in August

i think in M o N we have a sublime communicator, diplomat, peacemaker and most important builder, absolutely light years ahead of most predecessors

the 2 brickwalls and attritional football we saw alot of the time might of been preparing for a fight for survival in the PL, i think deep down M o N is an optimist, maybe over optimistic if it is possible, but he has wisdom to look a long way into the future and i think that is what he was doing, when the play offs were unattainable he tried differant things, had a look at virtually everyone and effectively deployed plans A B and C

Such a decent bloke, seems so easy and natural to want to support NFFC with M o N and R K on the touchline.  We will not see the likes of M o N again, such an exciting opportunity, for those who criticise 'the wrong type of goal' or 'the wrong type of win' , any promotion is good but i think if it happens under M o N and R K it will be more special and defining and precious, if nothing else it adds onto Cloughie and Taylors legacy, instead of us only being able to look into the distant fading past, the past actually becomes part of the present and the future, it's beautiful

MON will continue to improve us next season. If some can be so negative after 3 straight wins, what chance when we hit a blip on our way to promotion next term?


MON deserves to be shown respect for his record in management and even more so contribution to this club as a player.

That does not mean blindly agreeing with every decision (I too felt Carvalho's rest was too long). But constructively, intelligently and without predictable "dino" insults.

Still, this time next year, we will be preparing for the building of a new ground extension and the top division, under MON. The twitter folk will still be moaning that on Championship manager, they took Forest to consecutive European Cups......Again

I'm very much back on the fence with MON. New season, new clean slate to actually show us what he has planned. Yes the football bar the middlesbourgh game was bad but we did win 3 in a row and we started to look more creative at the end. I do also wonder if when he came in he thought not going to make play off's, (but can't actually say that) so now is the time to tinker and see what is what and who has the drive/ability to play for forest. Therefore i'm very open minded to see what and how we improve and like with all managers i hope he is the one to get us in the play off's or above.

Remember Warburton? He sides played some nice football but most of the time there was nothing to show for it'

I want points on the board and I want us at the top of the table, I really don't care how we do it.
