Grounds You’ve Seen Forest Play? - Username - 29-08-2019 The Carabao cup draw gives me an opportunity to see Forest play at a Ground that I’ve not had the opportunity to see them play at before, which got me thinking what grounds I had seen us play at. With our drop into League One for three seasons I obviously racked up a few too. By my reckoning I’ve been to: Highbury (Arsenal) Villa Park Oakwell St Andrews Ewood Park Bloomfield Road Burnden Park Reebok Stadium Vitality Stadium Valley Parade Griffin Park Withdean Stadium The Amex Ashton Gate Memorial Stadium Turf Moor Pirelli Stadium Gigg Lane Ninian Park Cardiff City Stadium Brunton Park The Valley Stamford Bridge Whaddon Road Layer Road St Andrews Alexandra Stadium Selhurst Park (Crystal Palace) Selhurst Park (Wimbledon) Baseball Ground Pride Park Belle Vue Keepmoat Stadium Goodison Park Highbury Stadium (Fleetwood) Craven Cottage Priestfield Blundell Park John Smith’s Stadium KCOM Stadium Boothferry Park Portman Road Elland Road Filbert Street Walkers Stadium Brisbane Road Sincil Bank Anfield Kenilworth Road Maine Road Etihad Stadium Old Trafford Field Mill Ayresome Park Riverside Stadium The New Den Stadium MK St James’ Park Sixfields Carrow Road City Ground Boundary Park Manor Ground London Road Home Park Vale Park Fratton Park Deepdale Loftus Road Elm Park Madjeski Stadium Spotland Millmoor New York Stadium Glanford Park Bramall Lane Hillsborough Gay Meadow The Dell St Mary’s Stadium Roots Hall Victoria Ground Britannia Stadium Roker Park Stadium of Light Liberty Stadium County Ground White Hart Lane Prenton Park Bescot Stadium Vicarage Road Hawthorns Boleyn Ground DW Stadium Molineux Adams Park Underhill Saltergate Victoria Park Meadow Lane Edgeley Park Racecourse Stadium Huish Park Deva Stadium Edgar Street Aggborough Raymond McEnhill Stadium Swedbank Stadion Olympiastadion Munich Despite all that I’ve still never managed to see Forest at Wembley (new or old) for various reasons. Will I ever get the chance again in my lifetime? Are there many that you’ve been to that I’ve missed out on? I always loved going to Highbury, some great Forest memories there. The worst for me by far was Boundary Park. A cold miserable s**thole. RE: Grounds you’ve seen Forest? - Username - 29-08-2019 Appreciate that this thread won’t generate much comment but have loved visiting different grounds down the years supporting the trickies. I actually worked at Coventry Colliery for 5 years back in the 80's so new the city quite well, though most of what i knew was 1/2 mile underneath, it was a very deep mine, the coal face also took about 10 feet of coal. I think the decision to flatten the old ground was very sad and i reckon destroyed a huge community which depended on the match days, used to be quite a few boozers you could pop in to as you wandered upto to the ground, many have now gone as have a huge swathe of Coventry city supporters, the new ground has no pubs, no community and no appeal whatsoever and surrounded by fiascos such as Coventry falling out with the owners and playing at Northampton for quite a while a few seasons ago. RE: Grounds you’ve seen Forest? - Username - 29-08-2019 You’re right, I missed out Highfield Road and the Ricoh Arena. I remember the Huckerby game vividly, it’s not often enough I leave before the full time whistle but did on that occasion. The three nil with Kevin Campbell scoring was a great day out. I’ve been to the Ricoh twice, once to see Forest, Joe Garner scored. I actually really liked the Ground. The stand behind the goal is quite steep so the atmosphere was excellent. I also saw Leicester Tigers play Wasps (?) and sampled the rugby zone they have beforehand which was great fun, lots of real ale, they had a bird of prey show for some weird reason too b RE: Grounds You’ve Seen Forest? - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-08-2019 (29-08-2019, 08:56 PM)Username Wrote: The Carabao cup draw gives me an opportunity to see Forest play at a Ground that I’ve not had the opportunity to see them play at before, which got me thinking what grounds I had seen us play at. Very impressive list there mate. Well done. 3 that spring to mind that I have been to that I think you have so far missed out on are: Plough Lane - Wimbledon. Kenilworth Road Luton. Upton Park - West Ham. RE: Grounds You’ve Seen Forest? - Username - 30-08-2019 I didn’t go to Plough Lane. I see AFC Wimbledon are moving back there in 2020 so here’s to a good cup draw next season. I mentioned the other two although i’ve always called Upton Park the Boleyn Ground. Is that right? Did it have both names or something? Horrible ground, they had that nasty bastard Julian Dicks playing for them. RE: Grounds You’ve Seen Forest? - the jock - 30-08-2019 kennilworth road is like walking into somebodys back garden. soon will be gone. RE: Grounds You’ve Seen Forest? - Username - 30-08-2019 I went in 1993 when we won 2-1, they had a young ginger kid playing up from for them called John Hartson. I forgot my European ones: The Olympic Stadium Amsterdam - Ajax. Santiago Bernabeu Stadium - Madrid ( Against Hamburg). Phillips Stadium - PSV Eindhoven. Lotto Park - Anderlecht. RE: Grounds You’ve Seen Forest? - ThePromisedLand - 30-08-2019 Can’t add many - if any ( not checked lower league stadia ). But would add Stade l’Abbe Deschamps ( Auxerre ) RE: Grounds You’ve Seen Forest? - Salvatore Matrecano - 30-08-2019 Great list Username, far more than me, you must have endured some misery in your time :D I can add Stade Gerland, Lyon Best place to watch football Ive been to I hate to admit it is Anfield, atmosphere and history just dont compare.
