Not long back from todays game and seen Patrick Bamford give an interview critical of Forest for not commemorating the 10 year anniversary of Nigel Doughty,s death. He said Forest wouldn’t be the club they are today without Nigel Doughty,s contribution. I must admit I had forgotten about this anniversary but think Patrick Bamford does have a point. The club should have done something today even if was just a small piece in the programme. It’s as if his contribution to Forest has completely been written out of history.

Yes I was disappointed the club didn't do anything to commemorate the anniversary of his passing they normally have done in recent years so was a bit of a suprise.
Did they not do it through fears of the Leeds fans not respecting it?

It was the 11th anniversary and he has the honour of the Academy and Training Centre being named after him.

Fair play from Bamford , doubt many in the ground realised what he had done.
We can honour Doughty but its probably a bit much to call for a minutes silence every year.

Funny thing is, actually it's not funny but you know what I mean, is that if Bamford hadn't done what he did then nobody would have mentioned anything about Doughty at all. It was mentioned in the Forest Archive thread on this forum that it was the anniversary of his death and nobody even replied to it.

I feel that everyone has said their farewells, no need to commemorate every year, that is for the family to do.

Even Clough and Taylor don't get that treatment. Like you said it's for the family to do now. We have stands and Academies etc named after managers and owners who have sadly passed away.

Plus Bamford was closer to Doughty then any of us Doughty was his godfather.
