Sam Surridge - Username - 10-03-2022

I don't believe he has his own thread but thought he deserved special mention after opening his goal scoring account with us.

He's been excellent since arriving despite limited opportunities so far, he's a proper work horse, playing on the shoulders of the last man and doesn't let his head drop.

I hope we see a lot more of him and, if we create the chances, I've no doubt he'll take them.

It wasn't until I saw the other angles of his goal the other night that I realised what a good finish it was. He could've easily blazed it over.

He's not as dynamic as Davis but he leads the line well, brings others into play and is reasonably quick as well. Delighted he managed to get off the mark and really hope it's the first of many.

Anyone else thinking 343 with Davis and Brennan wide?

He played something like this with Grabban and Davis so not a stretch to think he'll try it with Surridge instead of Grabban.

Potentially if we are chasing games, but I don’t think he would start with that TBH

I agree with all of that I have been thoroughly impressed with him.

3-4-1-2

Davis & Surridge up top on Saturday, please.

Surridge looks a natural finished to me, took both his chances well.

Not sure myself that'd work. Too similar perhaps?

Are you dropping Johnson? Or moving him?

RE: Sam Surridge - JollyLolly - 11-03-2022

Surridge in for the Zinc Man on Saturday who has not really been at the races when starting a game.

I think that could work.

Drop Davies into the 10 slot and Surridge up top.

Davies has the power and pace to run at defenders, drawing them away from Surridge who can be in the right position at the right time
