He already deserves his own thread.

Steve Cooper: "If you play with a back 3, there's got to be a real emphasis on one of the centre-backs stepping in and starting attacks. "If you have 3 centre-backs staying back, then you are only attacking with 7 - and I don't want to do that."

Which one of ours was doing that then out of interest?

The 'report card' of his two seasons:

Attacking 1st season.

Pragmatic 2nd season.

The latter may have made sense for him if you want an auto spot (which they occupied for a while.) and need to tighten up on goals conceded.  There must be a reason why he adopted this stance.  Or if they sold off his best striker.  They still seemed good on the counter attack to me from what I saw on Quest.  Swansea have had it good for a while.

He's got a good dollop of attackers in a broad sense here at Forest.  So there's the talent there to go on the front foot.  And I'd expect another striker or two to come in January.

Swansea.  They're in transition now.

SA.

Steve Cooper has been an absolute breath of fresh air, the football, the way he interacts, the connection he already has with the supporters has built so many bridges so quickly, he has brought much needed unity, not only in the dressing room but often pitch as well.

Really looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Looks a real good fit. A great start and hoping this run continues and the wave of excitement that goes with it.

RE: Stevie Cooper - Strawberry Avenger - 08-10-2021

Aye. He's positive in the way he goes about his business with players and fans. That's infectious. He's difficult not to like. He gets involved. And we've seen the result of that on the pitch already. He's helped the players set 'personal' goals. Initially, he does seem a good fit with the Academy bridging into the 1st team. I think that's where Forest have been missing a trick with that deeper integration.

I hope we can get another couple of results to put Forest in mid-table+ and get the Forest show on the road. Psychologically, give some of the 'confidence' players (eg. Lolley) a great deal of impetus.

Just a win puts Forest mid-table. That would make a massive difference after such an unfortunate (!) start.

That unity is something Dane talked alot of about. It seems more of the pieces that count are now pointing in the direction of 'true north.'
