Article in the athletic saying Fulham’s struggles may be related to the increase in set pieces and old school physical play in the EPL this season.
Or is it that Silva is on his way and that always leads to a drop off.
Either way, if Silva didn’t want to leave part way through the season and wanted better offers at the end of it, this isn’t going to help him.

To be fair to him, he was not backed very well in the Summer and it’s been a recurring theme for him at Fulham compared to other clubs pushing for mid table.

Surely that applies to us binning Dyche off for Silva come end of the season which we know is more than possible.

The players and Dyche will both know that if we do well and turn our season around then Dyche will stay and rightly so.
Silva on the other hand is out of contract and he has been critical of lack of investment and backing by his seniors.
Even if Silva leaves he won't walk straight into the Forest job if Dyche does well.

I'm in the camp that Dyche will do well. He has steadier the ship superbly in his 5 games in charge. Some tough games as well.

The big question marks re Dyche medium term will be
1) can he succeed with how Forest recruit, which is going to be predominantly young talented players that need development - eg MGW, Anderson, Murillo, Neco of this world.
We ain’t typically gonna be signing 27/28 yr olds ready to roll, our future success depends on buying for 20-30m and selling a good % for double or treble.
Dyche will need to prove he can develop McAtee, Bakwa and Hutchinson for example
2) does EM think Dyche can deliver European football going forward. Obvs this season is about stabilising and Dyche is the man for that. It will be interesting to see if he thinks Dyche can deliver top 8 finishes

Nuno was expert at this - look at how he improved Murillo, Anderson, MGW, CHO, Elanga
This is fundamental to the business model. Not signing the likes of Dwight McNeil.
