Is it just me? (probably) Or does it feel like a touch of supporter complacency (and in some cases over confidence/arrogance) is creeping in?
The atmosphere v Cov was flat for long periods as if expectations were not being met. Brum was a bit better-due to early goal. Now I see comments all over the place writing off Lutons chances after they lost both midfielders, missed a pen and were unfortunate not to get something away at Huddersfield in atrocious conditions.

Every game is tough in this league and Luton in their own back yard is a very tough fixture.

I am confident that if we play well we get something from Kenilworth Rd. However, Luton have been very adept at stopping teams from playing well at their place. A real banana skin this game  make no mistake.

RE: The Championship 2021/22 - Sausage Roll - 13-04-2022

I think some of the predictions for how the league will finish have been massively over-optimistic. Yes we're in a great run of form at the moment, however we're about to run smack into a bunch of teams who are also in the top ten in the current form table (with a couple of exceptions). And though Bournemouth have arguably got the hardest run-in of the current top six they've still got a six points lead over us.

If we get out of the Easter period still unbeaten and the same distance or less behind Bournemouth maybe then we can talk realistically about second place. At the moment though it's still a massive, massive ask.

I think that is difficult to avoid when we have played so well recently. I suppose at least playing good teams again will lower that complacency, particularly away from home. So that may not be an issue too often.

You’re not alone, I’m sure Coops will be taking Luton seriously and have them prepared.

No it's not just you feeling like that Zico.

The problem with supporting Forest is when we do go on a good run, many of our supporters (and local media) go well over the top with embracing the situation we are in at that time (like now for instance). This does two things which could become negative impacts on us, as players and supporters. The team start to become complacent and start dropping points. Our supporters start becoming arrogant and start giving it the big 'I am' to all other sets of fans, who then look like complete wankers when the team start dropping points.

We have every right to be enjoying the position we are in now. We should not however be bigging the team up to heights we may briefly touch but then fall away from, because that fall will come with an almighty bump if it happens. We should all remember what happened just 2 years ago and remember just how painful that was!

Lets just enjoy the here and now, but keep it real!

Yes absolutely Tricky. Im sure the team wont get complacent but the fans might be doing. You are correct about some giving it the big I am, they are all over Twitter and other teams forums. Not really sure what we have got to gloat about over the last 23 years. And Zico is correct maybe after the way the year has gone with the cup nights etc winning against Cov isnt such a big deal. But we simply have to play our part and get the team over the line. Im sure the atmosphere for the last 2 home games (hopefully 3) will be up for it.

Its not just the supporters who hurt from the monumental collapse of the 2019/20 season. Players were left broken, it showed in the performances of the next season. Figs, Worrall, Grabban, Smith, Yates, Lolley  will all remember and therefore hopefully they will also be doing all they can to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The ironyis I'm sure Cooper remembers it too!  Funny how Cooper's Swansea somehow pipping us has led us to this point.

Bit deflated after that, I've yet to move though so I seem to be watching the Bournemouth game. Not sure who we're supporting now though. Probably draw I guess
