Quite possibly tactical. 3 CBs in team, if one injured we revert to 4 at back. If full back has to go off we needed cover on bench, Bong is the only one available. Assume SC hasn't seen him play yet….

RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 26-09-2021

We really need to hope Grabban is back soon, IMO we would have won yesterday if he had stayed on.

RE: Injuries And Suspensions - JollyLolly - 26-09-2021

Give either Larsson or Swan a start Wednesday if Grabban is not fit to play against Barnsley, anybody other then Taylor!!!!

RE: Injuries And Suspensions - jurgen rober - 26-09-2021

If Grabban went off with concussion as it seems as both teams were allowed 4 subs, I think there is a rule now that the player cannot play for something like 10 days.

RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 26-09-2021

I dont think Swan anywhere near ready JL. Not sure about Larsson but he hasnt made a matchday squad yet so Im guessing he isnt either.

I am no fan of Taylor but the last thing we need to do is totally destroy his confidence by dropping him for an untried kid.

SM, Larsson and Swan are scoring goals for fun at under 23 level, they are both natural goal scorers, create the chances and they will put them in the back of the net. Larsson has not made the matchday squad yet because the previous managers have not had the balls to give youth a chance, hopefully this is now changing, suspect the 1st team will look a lot more different and younger this time next year

I think it’s a step too far for Swan at the moment.

Think we would be better looking to uncover a Greg Halford replica.

Not true.  And a complete myth if we are trying in include Hughton.

Hughton gave the 'u23s' their chance against Bradford.  And the team won.

Hughton put out a virtual u23s side against against Wolves.  With predictable results.

Mighten had a lot of game time under Hughton.  Spent a lot of his time being thrown around.

Brennan, featured heavily for Hughton.  (Though he has blown hot and cold.  As you'd expect for youth.)

Yates.  A developing player, we forget, featured 'ever present' under Hughton.

Garner.  A Hughton signing in January helped Forest stay up.  Was recruited AGAIN this Summer.

Fin.  Featured for Hughton.

The team already DOES look a lot different.  14 Academy products in the 1st team squad.  Unprecedented.

And it's not a surprise that Forest struggled this season.  It's alright saying 'play the youth' like some blind prophet but there's a reason why Forest are where they are. (Many reasons. In fact, I'm sure there's a list somewhere...). As the Academy products of this generation aren't as ready as the Academy products were in Paul Hart's golden generation.  Nor have they haven't quite got the mix right in 'curated' experience around them.  Yet.

We see that in central midfield where we are missing that bit of experience and Championship 'know how.'

As for next year. Probably. But here is now.

SA.

A spear tip.

A focal point.

Thought Millwall had 'our' guy.  That big buy who always scores against Forest.  Something like that.

SA, look much deeper into the reasons why CH gave some younger players a game early season and what was happing behind the scenes transfer wise, all is not what it seemed!

RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 26-09-2021

Cooper said in his post match interview that he thinks Grabban has a thigh injury despite coming off with concussion.

Certain signings made by Forest because they looked good against us haven't always worked out well...
David Friio, Chris Burke,Gino Padula, being three that spring to mind. Lyle Taylor still has time not to join that list....hopefully.
