RE: Injuries And Suspensions - wassy04 - 11-08-2021 (11-08-2021, 12:58 PM)Paplane Wrote: CH needs to be careful here. If we lose on Saturday, which I would say is now the likely result, then we could be going into the Derby game in two weeks time with next to no points from 4 games. And we know what follows if you lose that game off a bad run..... I get your point but 4 or 5 games is not a season. Why can't we just wait till christmas before deciding things are terrible. We're not realistically going for playoffs anyway this season so doesn't matter if we lose a few games. I'm aware some of the fans may disagree, anyway even if we do lose the first 4 games, it's not the manager to blame. Not his fault we've not signed anyone yet or that we had a covid outbreak or that Worrall and Soh got injured. And we know what follows if you lose that game off a bad run..... They have to be sold on the project that we are trying for top 6. Zinckernagel mentioned it, and Hughton talks about being competitive in top half. Even though we are re-building there is no reason why we shouldn’t be aiming to stay on the coat tails of the top 6. Marinakis will not just write reasons off - no chance. And we know what follows if you lose that game off a bad run..... Yeah sure I agree, that's not really what I meant. I just meant because we're not pushing flat out for top 6 we can afford a slow start. You're right though, if we want to get the big loans and better players we need to convince them we're going to be competitive as soon as possible. Mainly though it's completely unfair to judge CH based on the first few games when the majority of the issues are out of control. I agree with you SM. The tratment of Bong by some of our fans is cringeworthy. And we know what follows if you lose that game off a bad run..... Hughton did mention about being competitive. I'm sure he dropped veiled hints about bringing players in re: the same interview. Ie. In order to be competitive... But as you say, Reds73. It's got to be top half with a run at top 6. Quality players aren't going to come for a languid mid-table effort. There's no reason why positions 5-6 aren't up for grabs. (Pun intended.) Rebuilding yes. But there's no reason why, if recruitment pull their finger out, we can't get the Forest ship going in the right direction from the get go. Still need that LB, CM ball player and a brute up front. A powerful winger would be nice. And a thrusting Zimmerman (I can't remember the spelling of this target's name...) *shrugs. Forest were probable a couple of cancelled pre-season games from victory v Cov'. So no panic yet. But nervous Forest fans probably won't be happy until we get 3-4 more players in for this bright new dawn. They can see it. I'm sure recruitment are (!) busing a gut to get them in. I just don't know why the Premier League and the FA, the Football League...just don't get together and set the deadlines for the transfer market to eg. the end of July. Well ahead of the transfer deadline, so there isn't all this signing of players up to a month after the league starts. It's very messy. How are you meant to have pre-seasons with after 3 months off and the season starts and you're still getting players in. I'm sure there's some sense in the current system. But I can't see it. SA. Would that be Zinckernagel by any chance SA :D RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Sausage Roll - 23-08-2021 Osei-Tutu out for 'several weeks' with a hamstring injury. It seems fine to me, if he plays 25 games say then Back can play the rest, develops him and we still get matches from the better player too. Win win? RE: Injuries And Suspensions - Salvatore Matrecano - 24-08-2021 25 games? That would be nice. He managed 8 last season. |
