It seems to have gone under the radar. Great defending doesn't get the attention it deserves, only goals get the attention.
It was superb from Dawson, what a great never say die attitude he has. He is rolling back the clock with his performances this season.

If Watson can bring Yates on like he did last season in some games....and help his apprenticeship along in the way that Worrall has grown as a player alongside Dawson then we're in for a treat.
Like to see Yates along Watson and Samba.

I am only guessing but I think Watson's influence on young Ryan will be immense. I for one am actually looking forward to Yates getting a chance this season, I reckon he will surprise a few.

I think he will, Duncan. I think he's got the Cohen-esque 'aura' of integrity. And it's something a lot of the Academy lads bring to the table, Worrall, Cash. For the Badge. Playing for Nottingham Forest. He has that will to win, I find his play positive. When 'that' Derby player gave Yates a shove last season, I knew we had something special. He's got what it takes to get at the other team.
It's great to hear Worrall talking about 'My Club.' He had me at Hello. And Yates is of a similar cast. He 'wants it.'
Really rooting for him to come back after his knee injury and push the other Squad members for his 1st team place.
Come on, Yatesy, lets be 'Avin yer.

Big Joe Worrall's cushion header for Ben Watson's volley was pure class, showing maturity and composure from a guy you'd mainly associate with pure strength and heart, he is looking the complete player, surely the instinct would of been for max power towards goal. Awesome finish by Ben Watson. I did notice them talking prior to at least 2 corners ... was it pre planned?

It's still early days, but I have a question?
Is there anyone out there who still thinks "We won't finish top 6 with Watson at the base" or words to that effect. "Alright if we want to finish mid table" etc..
In fairness it's probably a better question if put on another forum where the FIFA / football manager playing brigade seem to think all dips in form are attributed solely to "legs are gone" or "he's not good enough". Little matters like niggly injuries (think Lolley), the time it takes to get fully back from injury, after the initial adrenalin fuelled comebacks (think Carvhalho) or personal issues (think Murphy) getting a fair run without supporters slaughtering you for being on team sheet (think Fox) or influences outside affecting dressing room harmony (think Spurs...allegedly) or a dip in confidence which can be caused by any of the above or the manager not fancying you (think Watson under AK?).
My thoughts are Watson has been a top player throughout his career, is now fully fit and made the role his own. Form is temporary class is permanent. He was a big factor in turning us around when he first signed. 5-2 vs QPR was his best Forest display.....until yesterday. Forget his goal. His reading of the game was immense. Riberio and Carvs got caught up the pitch after a flukey mistake and I thought "sh1t, we're short here, instinctively I looked to see if Joe or Chema were shuffled across to cover, but instead Watson was already bang in line as if he had been at left back the whole game. He was in the right place at the right time throughout. Including the corner! I'm glad he's getting some "love" from fans now. Last season he was no where near as bad as some made out. This season he has been our stand out player.
Rafa Mir? If he gets a goal, we may see the player we hoped we had signed.
