RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - Forest1970 - 02-01-2024 (02-01-2024, 09:48 PM)ozzyten10 Wrote: Percy is a forest fan! Got to be honest I would still find it VERY hard to believe EM would even let us get anywhere close to breaching the FFP rules especially after investing so much time and money into this club only to get points deducted or fined or heavens forbid anything worse. The only reason I can see why the club has hired this top notch FFP lawyer is just to get advice on whatever comes our way if anything and to be honest most teams would have a good argument of a lenient potential penalty because of the shite happening with Man City and Chelsea. If it turns out we are in breach somebody or group of people have seriously messed up. And if we hadn't bought the players we did people would've said we had no ambition and basically no team. Everyone knew after getting promoted we needed more players because half our team were loans and the only thing I can see we f****d up on was not getting some of the loans on some buying clauses if we got promoted. So could it possibly be that certain reporters just want to try and cause ballcrap for us. It has always been the case they hate us winning so will report any shite to disrupt that winning streak. The Percy story will have been briefed from the Forest end to try and get ahead of it and present the most positive light RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - BadDog - 02-01-2024 (02-01-2024, 10:11 PM)Username Wrote:(02-01-2024, 09:46 PM)Forest1970 Wrote: It seems to me that the only time anything is written about the club in the mainstream media like the BBC and Sky is when it's going shite for us and this so called news that's being spoken about now in my eyes hasn't been reported by any of them. That's the worrying bit he makes it seem worse. RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - Marinakis Red - 02-01-2024 It's certainly going to be a worrying couple of weeks. When Murphy got sacked we lost all control of it. RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - Sausage Roll - 02-01-2024 More from Kieran Maguire: “It’s too early to say. There has been a rumour about Forest for last 4-6 weeks but they only submitted accounts to PL on 31 December so seems premature. Not a lot of room for manoeuvre but a lot will depend on outstanding Covid allowances and promotion costs exempt from FFP.” RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - ozzyten10 - 02-01-2024 We will find out on Jan 14th. RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - wassy04 - 02-01-2024 Given that this is from Percy and therefore briefed by the club its fairly clear we had gone over the FFP spending limit. Because accounts run July to June there's essentially a week after the season when the window opens where we could've sold someone (Brennan) to meet FFP. We're saying that we would've got a lower fee had we have sold at that point. This is similar to the argument Everton used, except they sold Richarlison on last day of June to meet FFP (they still failed). Their argument was that they were forced to sell low to meet FFP. They ended up with a points penalty, can't really see how our argument carries much weight based on that article. So the questions are how much did we fail by and why? I suspect its not much otherwise we wouldn't have risked this Brennan gambit. Perhaps when the Everton verdict came through this caused adjustments to what we expected we could get away with and hence we jumped over the limit. Precedent has been set, I reckon we get a points penalty but less than Everton. I guess we won't know how bad the accounts actually are until they are released though. RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - The reds - 02-01-2024 It sounds like it is very close so I really don’t think we will get a points deduction Probably a fine and a plan to follow RE: NFFC News None Transfer Related - wassy04 - 02-01-2024 (02-01-2024, 10:32 PM)The reds Wrote: It sounds like it is very close so I really don’t think we will get a points deduction They've changed their interpretation of the rules to try and limit what powers the independent regulator will put in so they might want to look strong. Or something to that effect. |
