RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 17-08-2021 Okay Gari thank you that seems like a reasonable explanation :) RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Uwantlee - 17-08-2021 (17-08-2021, 09:37 AM)Mcforest Wrote: Well, we are discussing that CH has a very pragmatic style and even though it does not look pretty right now in theory it does work and the cases of showing how it can work if you get the balance between defence and attack correct is prob Atletico Madrid. However to get that system to work it takes a very long time and a lot of trial and error especially with players and also that it offers limited high success rates but can offer consistency in performances as well as longevity of a team. Over a high attack system which can at the start have big highs and even bigger lows. However the high attack when done and implemented correctly can result in fast results and success but it is more evolving and the system has to go under continues change so does not lead to team longevity. Personally... I think he is just stuck in his ways and too stubborn to change. Take Saturday. Losing 2-1 against 10 men with 20 minutes still to play. He wouldn't change the system, the same system that had lost us the first game and got us in to a losing position in that game. His subs were like for like because he wouldn't adapt to what the game needed. Playing with 2 dcm is OK when the game calls for it. But to utilise it every game home and away is just lunacy. To persist with players who are out of form and not playing well is beyond ridiculous. Samba should have been dropped last season and wasn't. He should have been dropped after cov and wasn't and no doubt he won't be dropped tomorrow. How many mistakes does he have to make how many points does he have to cost us. Yates and colback together are too similar. They can break up play but when they have the ball they are too limited. We need one to break up play and one to have a little more freedom to move the ball. Neither are capable which is why we are trying g to bring back garner. However, in the meantime we have young fornah who can do that job... give him a shirt. Johnson is and wi be an exceptional talent. That should not guarantee him a starting place. He had a good first half against cov. Since then he has been fairly ineffective. It happens. Consistency at this level will take time. He needs to come out of the team when his performance drops so he knows he needs to do better. Lolley... my word he has been terrible in both games. Should not have been in the 11 against Bournemouth. CH needs to pick players on merit not reputation. Lolley was an outstanding winger 2 seasons ago. Since his injury (first one) he had struggled. CH does not appear to be a safe pair of hands at the moment... in fact I would argue far from it. That does not mean he isn't capable but while he persists with one formation regardless, persists with the same underperformed players regardless and refuses to change in game systems he will continue to struggle. Imagine if he'd dropped Johnson for the first few games, the abuse he'd have got. Johnson needs to play as we need to convince him to sign a new deal, you don't drop a young player after one half of a quiet performance. This is exactly why they don't just throw them all in as they will be inconsistent. Has 90 mins against league two Bradford really proved Fornah is now a better option than Colback? I'm not convinced but we don't see training I guess so can't tell how he's looking. I think until we get someone in we're stuck with those too as we have no other options. We can't just play loads of attacking midfielders, which is what you were calling for before. Fair point, one has won the Champions League with 2 different sides and domestic titles with 4 different sides. The other, hasn't. The main point was - La Liga and the Championship are entirely different leagues. Obviously, there's far more quality and consideration in La Liga. But the Championship is much more intense and you do not get away with seeking to absorb as much pressure as CH sets us up to do. Our process is wrong. The case in point is the results over his 40 or so games here. If the process is right, then the result will take care of itself. Or perhaps we just don't have a very good team? RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Redreg - 17-08-2021 At Newcastle he had a very good team that had just been relegated i think he would of struggled not to take them up and at Brighton they got the Recruitmet right and a couple of players had outstanding seasons . If and its a Big if and we get our targets :- Buchanan Cannon Holmes Garner Longstaff Rodgers Flemming A CF !!! I think we would not be far of Challenging, Tactics get Blamed alot of the time but if the players are not good enough it doesn’t matter what tactics you use . Also we have not been that bad first to games probably deserved a point out of both games and if Worral was playing i think we would of . Until Soh went off the defence looked solid at Coventry. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Widdow - 17-08-2021 He talks about cannot wait till the window shuts so he can start concentrating on the players in the building. Nothing to stop doing that now. Really don’t want Hughton having final say on players. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 17-08-2021 Uwantlee, spot on with your appraisal of CH! RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Uwantlee - 17-08-2021 CH needs to have the final say on signings. At the end of the day its his squad he is the manager and if we do it any different we will not find it easy getting a replacement when the people up top get board of watching us lose by playing avoid defeat at all costs football. I am worried that we are going to leave ourselves short at the top end of the pitch. Our only attacking signing is going back to Watford when they get relegated. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Uwantlee - 17-08-2021 I tell you what... I am so sick of listening to his pre match interviews or his post match assessments... some crap from today's... Not the start we wanted.... well no shit sherlock Couldn't see us losing vs cov.... well we could all see the way the game was going once we scored and sat back. Once they equalised I couldn't see us not losing. Couldn't see us losing vs Bournemouth once we equalised.... so for 10 minutes he thought we look good. 10 minutes out of 90. The man's a joke. They have a good manager... when was the last time he didn't compliment an opposition manager. They have a very good team... standard comment every game. We wi have to eliminate some of their threats... why can you bloody stop making every team seem like world beaters. You are already defensive before you announce the same team formation and set up. We have work to do to make signings... talk about stating the obvious. Just bloody get it done. I'm sorry but he just rinses and repeats the same shit every week or twice a week. We have deserved to lose the first 2 games. The first one because despite having the better of the first half we sat off and let them play. The second because despite getting back in to the game we didn't push on and we didn't fooking push them with a man advantage. CH needs to wake up and get a bloody clue and quick. Lose tomorrow and there will be a lot more people losing patience with him and his tactics. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - BarryLyons - 17-08-2021 I’m late to the party here. I don’t think he was a good appointment You can point to previous successes here but do those tactics still work? Ask Mourhino. Ask numerous other managers. Things don’t stand still in football. I don’t like the score first and defend tactic. We’re not good enough. I don’t like the cut out the lines tactic. We’re not good enough. I don’t like the not pressing ball the tactic. We’re not in the Premiership. I don’t like the like for like not changing anything too late substitutions . RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 17-08-2021 Uwantlee, not much more to add from your latest post, spot on again, totally agree, spelt it extremely well. By the way I hope CH does not pick me tomorrow I been utterly crap so far this season!!!! |
