They must be starting to panic a bit. Although assuming the loan has been signed off the takeover part is less urgent

I thought there might be a list of announcements today by other clubs signing their free agent players. It seems not.

So it's official, the white Knight did appear, jammy bastards!

I'm happy for them, I think they deserved to be punished for the way that they repeatedly tried to bend the rules (and still failed spectacularly) However I'm happy that they still exist for us to look down on from above

I think they're incredibly lucky that this guy Clowes has stepped up and put a significant amount of his personal wealth on the line for them. In football terms hes not a wealthy man so buying a club the size of Derby even with no debt is a huge undertaking. To be honest, I think he's done an incredibly noble thing. He stepped up when others walked away and hes saved them from the bottom feeders.

He's basically a season ticket holder that despite not wanting to spend on it, knew he had the means to save the club and didn't want to sit by and watch them fold. I suspect he would prefer to rebuild them, then sell on when he can. Respect to the bloke either way.

He's got a bargain on the stadium too, 22m I heard it was worth 80! :fishing:

This guy will run them sensibly and within their means. That means it could be a slow build because I doubt they will be able to pay big wages. Expect a flurry of free transfers and loans to arrive over next few days as they cobble a squad together.

It will probably be similar to the season we got relegated when we signed such big names as nicky eaden, Gary holt, gino padula and, the one, the only, Eugene dadi.

I think it will be a tall order to be challenging for promotion this year - expect rebuilding and then consolidation.

Think it'll be more like that year under SoD where we had Halford playing up front. That year was pretty fun actually until Fawaz sacked SoD for no reason!

Amazing to think that takeover was ten years ago this month.

Slightly disappointed they havent ended up with someone comical but fair play to this bloke, clearly seems decent if not vastly wealthy and is just what they need.
Will just have to make do with laughing at their on field exploits now

I think this is better, will be a decently run League II club for years to come.

I'd love to know the terms of their HMRC repayments.
They also have to honour all football debt of which there are significant payments outstanding to likes of Arsenal.

So definitely not going into this season debt free.

Considerably reduced TV income too.

Those empty seats will be over half the ground I suspect. They won't be able to compete with likes of Sheff Weds, Ipswich and Co for good league 1 players either.

Their best asset is Rosenior.

Hopefully they will struggle, be great if they got relegated.

Even now after everything I have been receiving messages along lines of "see you the season after next in Championship" They never learn the deluded fools....

I dunno. I sense their fans will rally, just because theres no negativity around any more. If they do that, get the majority of their players to re-sign and naybe bring in someone like Hourihane then they might get something going. Some momentum.
