Seems both Murillo and Igor Jesus have been named in Brazil's 55 man preliminary World Cup squad. I don't think either will make the cut but I reckon after their respective seasons Jesus has the better chance of the two.

Has Milenkovic played any better than Moratto most of this season. I am not sure he has. Also is it just me or is Netz too slow to play full back in the premier league.

Both Milenkovic and Murillo have both been significantly worse than last season. Think its a combination of manger chaos, Murillos fitness hasnt helped and meant they haven’t been able to play as a pair.

No I don’t think Morato has been worse but that doesn’t mean he is all that good either. Pleased for the bloke to get a goal, Im sure that meant the world to him, mistakes or not he seems to give his all.

Not seen enough of Netz but you could be correct.

Moratto does switch off but he is left footed which comes at a premium price for centre backs and younger. He has had a decent end to the season. We probably only need four centre backs next season and have Bindon coming back as well. Ideally two would be left footed. I think there is a case for keeping Moratto and selling Milenkovic. I guess most supporters would disagree because Milenkovic made a big difference that first season he signed. Netz has a decent left foot but doesn’t have the pace to be a threat as a wing back and not much better defender than Zinchenko. First job of a full back is to stop his opponent crossing. In the three games i have seen him play he does not do that. We still need a left full back who can defend.

Maybe Netz is one for the future?

RE: Current Players Thread - Sausage Roll - 18-05-2026

I'm a bit more generous than most on here I think so I wouldn't write any of our signings from last summer off. Sangare and more recently Morato have shown this season what can happen with a bit of time to get used to the league.

Even Ndoye - who has probably been the biggest disappointment given his price tag and reputation - could still come good yet.

RE: Current Players Thread - Sausage Roll - 18-05-2026

None of our players in the Brazil squad but Danilo has made it - well done to him.

RE: Current Players Thread - Portsmouth Reef - 18-05-2026

I saw the Brasil squad about a week ago.Murillo and Jesus are in it.

That was the provisional squad.

They have both been left out of the final squad.

RE: Current Players Thread - McDurban - 19-05-2026

So far its just Wood, Bindon and Sangare that are going.
Pending squads are Switzerland (Ndoye), England (Anderson, Gibbs White) and Scotland (Gunn).
I'm relieved that Aina and Awoniyi get a proper rest for a change.

Out of interest, both Ramon Sosa and Brian Ojeda are going with Paraguay.

RE: Current Players Thread - Sausage Roll - 19-05-2026

I wouldn't be certain about Gibbs-White, despite his recent brilliant form.
