Bugger!
And there was me - all this time - believing him to be ours.  :P

Can't see any issue with this.

Spot on.

As I have said before, so long as it is measured and not abusive.

That difference  between "Such and such is struggling and could do with some time out of line up"
Vs
"Such and such is sh1t and should f@ck off to Spain or Qatar."

Or similar. I've tried to voice my opinion about a certain CB in a similar way, though may have  also been a bit harsh re "goal a game" ratio from his mistakes.

Agreed.
But there were a couple of comments about Grabbs that were over the top:

‘past his sell by date’
‘been s**t for ages now’

Anyway - time to move on.
Just delighted - as I’m sure we all are - to have him back fit & firing.

SR, I acknowledge your thoughts on our Portuguese super star (currently on loan) but my point was that he could be our Barry Bannan because the team now plays higher up the pitch under CH and therefore he would be in the right place to make little plays around the box and get forwards into scoring positions.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield Wednesday - ThePromisedLand - 16-12-2020

I’d love to see him back JL - but to compare him to Bannan is to compare apples with pears, they are so different.
He’s only completed a full 90 mins just 3 times this season - I fear he needs to show a little more consistency to be considered.

Like Worrall said, we need MEN.

He did also have the second worst conversion rate of any striker in the league last year and that got even worse this season so let's hope he can improve on this. I would rotate them every game personally although I'd be interested to see them more together. Taylor looked much better when played with Guerroro and Grabban is a way better version of him

Where's this stat from?

SSN last season, sorry I've not actually got any evidence to back it up apart from that. If it helps Bamford was number 1?

RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield Wednesday - JollyLolly - 16-12-2020

TPL, agreed he is different to Bannan but my point is that he is our player and we are missing this type of player in the team structure that CH seems to be formulating, We also are led to believe that he did not want to leave Nottingham for the sun, & beaches of Spain, who in their right mind would!!!!

Unfortunately there are 1 or 2 who only show up when we are losing to make derogatory comments. Sad but true.

Good solid performance last night and I'm especially delighted for Grabban, Mighten, Soh and Cafu who is slowly starting to look like a decent signing.

Delighted for Grabbs.
Class is permanent.
Don’t know about the less regular posters Sniff - but if you go back a few pages on the ‘Grabban’ thread there were a number giving Grabban heaps of stick ( inc quite a few regulars ).
Every dog has its day...

Grabban showed in just those 15 minutes why he's so such a good player. Strong and confident on the ball, movement off the ball, one chance created by some persistence and a class finish. It was so refreshing to see. I don't want to knock Taylor as he showed some improvement last night but he's nowhere near Grabban's level yet. He missed a few chances last night which if he'd put away would've meant we finished the night comfortably with our slippers on and smoking a big cigar. In the end I was counting down the clock from 70 minutes and just awaiting the inevitable equaliser.
I also hope that Grabs is back but let's not go over the top with yesterday. I was pleased with finish, it wasn't easy, intact he missed easier chances than yesterday's,  but by then Wednesday were tired ( even Pulis said that) and Grabs made the most of this. Taylor did thd dirty work in the previous 75 minutes.
We need both Taylor and Grabs fit. Why? They are not similar players. If one is struggling the other might be useful and vice versa. Can we play them both at the same time? I doubt it. We dont have that luxury,  we need wingers that know their job and central midfield that blocks the opposition and create chances immediately after.

Sow & Yates in cm was great for me.

Nice to see Sow playing in a more Contained way.'

He may stay fit that way.

Cafu ahead as the link man...?

The energy of adding Mighen, Soh...Worrall and Yates and Forest seem to have more zip and energy.

More hunger and desire.

:)

We played a very poor side...but what gives me a bit of hope is that we have matched most sides and been in almost every game.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield Wednesday - Strawberry Avenger - 17-12-2020

There's some direct yet intricate forward play in the extended highlights.

A sign of things to come from Hughton's Forest..?

I thought Yates got a red card a few games ago?
When does his suspension start?
