Unfortunately there are 1 or 2 who only show up when we are losing to make derogatory comments. Sad but true.

Good solid performance last night and I'm especially delighted for Grabban, Mighten, Soh and Cafu who is slowly starting to look like a decent signing.

Delighted for Grabbs.
Class is permanent.
Don’t know about the less regular posters Sniff - but if you go back a few pages on the ‘Grabban’ thread there were a number giving Grabban heaps of stick ( inc quite a few regulars ).
Every dog has its day...

Grabban showed in just those 15 minutes why he's so such a good player. Strong and confident on the ball, movement off the ball, one chance created by some persistence and a class finish. It was so refreshing to see. I don't want to knock Taylor as he showed some improvement last night but he's nowhere near Grabban's level yet. He missed a few chances last night which if he'd put away would've meant we finished the night comfortably with our slippers on and smoking a big cigar. In the end I was counting down the clock from 70 minutes and just awaiting the inevitable equaliser.

I pleased to see the midfield balance getting better- the obvious improvement indirectly comes from the full backs as they are able to push on again. We seemed to really struggle when the full backs had to defend- particularly as neither full backs are astute defenders

With CH now playing a much higher line the SL we are missing that spark player (similar to Bannan last night for SW) in midfield, we should bring back our 15 mil player loaned out to some piss poor Spanish team in January, he might just now be part of the new jig-saw.

On this, does anyone know how he is doing in Spain?

He's hardly tearing their league apart, I don't think he's even a regular starter. Think I read that he did come off the bench and provide an assist last match though, which was his second or third in recent games.

Nothing wrong with that TPL in my opinion. His form up until last night had been poor so why can't he be given a bit of stick? I am sure even Grabban would admit himself that his form since the back end of last season has been disappointing. I can't see the issue.

I just hope he gets back into the groove quickly and starts enjoying his football again to prevent his head being turned by Sabri next month.

Not gonna lie, I was one of them slating Grabban earlier this season. I'm not going to take my words back either. Up until his injury, he was woeful, let us not forget that fact! He had gone something like 8 games this season and god knows how many games last season without finding the net. For a '20 goals per season' striker, that is not acceptable. Some of his misses were harder to do than actually score the goal!!

Yes he came on last night and scored, and it was a well taken goal too. But before we all start rolling over to have our tummies tickled in ecstatic elation, he has scored once against a very poor Sheffield Wednesday side. One Swallow doesnt make a summer!!

If he continues to find the back of the net, then I will happily eat humble pie and hold my hands up and accept I was wrong. But I will not be jumping up and down like an happy clapper on the basis of one goal against a poor side. If/when he starts doing it against better sides, then happy days.

If someone is playing poorly then there is nothing wrong with a bit of criticism.

If someone is playing well then there is nothing wrong with a bit of praise.

Can't see any issue with this.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield Wednesday - wassy04 - 16-12-2020

I think the criticism was nuanced too, it was his finishing specifically that was the issue.

I dont think too many of the rational commenters were critical of his hold up play/work rate. This is the best part of his game and where he's miles ahead of Taylor as a loan striker.

He did also have the second worst conversion rate of any striker in the league last year and that got even worse this season so let's hope he can improve on this. I would rotate them every game personally although I'd be interested to see them more together. Taylor looked much better when played with Guerroro and Grabban is a way better version of him

Spot on.

As I have said before, so long as it is measured and not abusive.

That difference  between "Such and such is struggling and could do with some time out of line up"
Vs
"Such and such is sh1t and should f@ck off to Spain or Qatar."

Or similar. I've tried to voice my opinion about a certain CB in a similar way, though may have  also been a bit harsh re "goal a game" ratio from his mistakes.
