In the second half, when France had come out of their sulk and decided they wanted to play we looked wide open defensively and wide open teams don't win world cups or beat teams like France or Spain.
It improved when Bellingham and Anderson came on but jeesh, how long did Tuchel look at it before making that change?

Special word for Djed Spence. There was universal derision when Tuchel announced he was selected in the squad. No one could believe it, third choice full back at 17th placed Spurs etc etc. And then, after his first game, everyone thought that opinion was vindicated, he was indeed crap. But since then he's been an absolute warrior. I've got him down as one of the highlights of this world cup for England. A real shining light. He's been brilliant.

Boring World Cup Final so far and so far referee again doing nothing to stop Argentina fouling. Three blatant yellows all ignored.

That little rat Fernandez being sent off has definitely been the highlight, though Paredes should've gone too. Fernandez and Chelsea are just a perfect match.

This was so gruesome to watch I forgot the half time show. Everything that is bad in football came out to play. VARgentina got away with murder when hilariously Fernandez got sent off for two yellows (he should have got a red for elbowing Ando in the last game). One of which wasn't even for a foul but complaining a decision. The dirty little fuckers realised they had not chance in an actual football match so decided to give Spain the England treatment. Didn't quite work out for them even though they got away with absolute murder until the ref had had enough of Enzo. What was with Tom Cruise blabbering on before the game? How in God's name did the first goal not get given. I mean, they tried to give it to brand Messi but the smell got too much even for FIFA which was hilarious. Half the Spanish players ignoring Trump at the end was funny too.
Anyway after the third place classic comedy game you just knew this was going to be awful and so it came to pass. I hope the Euros don't go all hollywood or I will just give up.
Oh yeah, and have we sacked Tuchel yet?

It was awful. Only one team tried to play football. The other knew they weren't as good and just tried to spoil it. Some of them also utterly embarrassed themselves in the process. The right team won.

I dont think Argentina care about embarrassing themselves or even understand that is a thing. They would try to twist the argument to make out they were victims in some way regardless.

Indeed. I wonder if any of their fans are ashamed of how some of their players conducted themselves? If not then there's clearly a cultural issue there. Some of the defending was magnificent, can't deny that, but Fernadez, Paredes, Mac Allister and whoever it was that swung at the Spanish player after full time were all shameful.
